There are currently 230 people (more or less) watching his stream. That's hilariously sad. Also, checked with the tidyxgamer viewers/chatters thing that gives an idea of potential bots. Only a difference of 20 people right now, which is within the margin of error (<=10%, basically). Phil's normally got a 20% or more difference (which suggests a significant number of not-in-chat viewers, whether bots or otherwise).
I'm always watching while making sure to keep a username out of chat (my logging is done with anonymous connections so they won't appear in chat or count as extra viewers pulling the stream) so I'd be one of those. If Freedom Chat isn't restreaming, embedded Twitch player doesn't log you into the chat so you'd appear this way too. Same would have been true for KF's lolcow.tv back in the day, since that's their own CyTube rollout.
A Freedom Chat restream would count as 1 viewer & 1 chat member, so that wouldn't spike the numbers. Banned users can still show up in chat, I've seen Tevin & even drgnkiller's names in the user list occasionally - they just can't say anything. Unsure if that's drgnkiller from Twitter or just some troll name.

Snort Burnell kind of nailed it in their new vid when they put up $$$POSITIVITY$$$ while he was talking about it. Whenever this dude talks about being 'positive', 'positivity' in stream or 'interaction' (as Tevin pointed out), it's literally code for 'how much money I'm getting' and it's hilarious how transparent it is...
I like to joke that if 'hate makes me STRONGER, MORE MOTIVATED to work' etc. then shouldn't positivity & 'love' make him weaker? He also ends so many streams with a comment about how well or poorly cheers, subs & tips did. 'Participation' is the other joke term he uses, how appropriate considering he asked people to "participate" with TKOHHD in late 2010 - meaning click on the ads that he so bluntly stated in his 2009 face reveal.

Wouldn't a $500 Federal Tax refund imply that she was working some sort of minimum wage job making like $20K per year? That sounds like the amount people working 40 hrs/week at a minimum wage job get back for taxes.

Yeah. I think everyone kinda agreed that if she had a job it was probably nothing too exciting.

That doesn't mean she can't live and be financially responsible/independent though.

And also that's the amount she told him about. Could be different.

Looks like his PS4 issues are already starting.
I hope he uses the charging issue as a reason to get a PS4 pro, like you can't just fucking plug it into any USB socket.

He blamed the new long USB cable he bought in late 2017, that wouldn't let it charge on his laptop either. Switched to an older short USB cable to the laptop, charging fine. BUT right after that the audio dropped out again, definitely seems like that USB port on his PS4 has issues. I'd plug a USB hub into it so the physical stress of connectors moving around & being (un)plugged would hit the hub... but DSP will likely use it to prove how badly he needs a replacement PS4... and it might as well be a PS4 Pro. Would true DSP fans begrudge him asking for the extra ~$100?

lol...

Long USB cables are extremely problematic unless you spend a lot of money on them and even then are still problematic. I'd say it should be expected to be common knowledge, but the number of people I've seen complain that charging isn't working would make it not so.

Even if a company makes a long cable there is no guarantee it will actually work, especially when power and not just data is concerned.

Anyway, the Astro headphones use microUSB, which also provides the power if I understand right. What I'm not clear on is if the PS4 USB ports are each USB 3.0 compliant or whether they're a hub... Basically a compliant port should provide 0.9 amps. But if its a hub (like some shitty chargers) then the power is split across the ports. So if you plug in two or more devices which use more than what's available, you'll run into issues.

Says the fucking comcast engineers told him the socket in his office wasn't even strong enough for his high grade expensive internet.

Wait... I want to savor this moment some more. Let me repeat that:

DarksydePhil, the guy who complains about bugged netcode on every game ever, says that the fucking Comcast engineers told him both sockets in his office and most of his house were shit for internet.

He also says its legally an office and a bunch of other shit.

Anyway, I'll sum this up with what possible issues there are with his headphones:
  • Use shitty/old USB cables and you run into issues
  • Use out of spec USB cables and you run into issues
  • Use shitty/old USB hubs and you run into issues
  • Be DSP and you run into issues
Now I wouldn't want to shit on people that can't afford better, but this is his fucking job. Those headphones are powered by USB. They're never going to be reliable in any setting where someone uses them as much as DSP does.

His claims of being the average joe of video gaming are pretty funny, because if he is the average video gamer (at least from the US), half of the other players would have to be even dumber, more clueless, and complain even more. He wants people to think he is the little guy when in fact he completely embraced being a money whore, interacting with people only when they give him money in one way or the other.

Also what a coincidence he mentions his PS4 dying slowly when his soulmaid got a PS4 pro and he doesn't. Guess his plan was to take her PS4 pro and give her is old PS4, but now his paypigs have to buy him a Pro too.

back to youtube, streaming there.
This is my thought as well, and it would be amazing if it ever happened. Remember all the shit he talked about Twitch he had to backpedal on? It would be the same for Youtube except ten times over.

You know in his mind he thinks Twitch will stay exactly like it is right now forever, even though he has been burned by that kind of thinking multiple times over his 10 year unemployment. He seems to be banking on this Amazon thing to be the next life boat he can climb onto, and why not since the affiliate link worked so well for him.

He has to have all the wires and cords all over the middle of the floor because if he ran them along the wall he would lose quality because of long cords.

Dude, the cords you are using are still the same length. The only thing you did was coil them up in a pile.

Legally according to the United States government this room is his office.

I don't understand the appeal behind his "average joe" gimmick. If I wanted to see an average person play videogames I'd watch my friend or my brother play and have a conversation with them without spending 10 cents for them to talk to me.

His "extra virgin, cage-free, no preservatives and grain-fed 100% pure Aryan genes raw" commentaries gimmick is also stupid. I'd rather watch a longplay if I wanted unedited playthroughs, or someone who isn't obnoxious as Phil ruining cutscenes and dialogue.
Whenever DarkSydeFool mentions this "average joe" gimmik he seems to think he's one of the special people who give you some warm feelings when they breath, eat, drink or whisper very close to a microphone (a disgusting concept which I will never understand). Well, smacking close to the microphone is indeed one of his "gimmiks".
If someone is really desperate he can twist the meaning of words so they mean something very different so they can sell you snake oil. But when you take 1 step back and look what's objectively happening the whole story falls apart. Has something to do with the standpoint, the perspective and Einstein's general theory of relativity (that's a joke. I hope you laughed).

For example: Phil tells us and sees him as our gaming buddy who doesn't ruin the moment by being an actor. The best gaming buddy who has no need to censor himself, being forcefully funny or dishonest. That's his niche.

But then there is the step back and he is just a lazy fuck who is not bothered with editing, creating any good concept, who can't filter his words, has a shitty personality and is simply not appealing (toxic, disgusting, negative all the time). He is more like the friend from old days from which you don't know how you met him or why you're friends and you don't have the heart to tell him to fuck off. He's just sitting on your couch, plays your videogames, burps in your general direction, badmouth your favorite games, makes jokes about your mom's big tits, complains in length that the lemonade you brought him has no real lemon on top, throws around your controllers when he's angry and "borrows" your hard earned money all the time.
What a great niche to fill!

This is a minor issue in the grand scheme of things, but I'm about 99% sure, based on watching the stream, that Phil is unaware that you can charge attacks in Secret of Mana....literally one of the base mechanics of the game once you can upgrade a weapon.

Which is funny because he knows this game (and when he knows something you can be sure he is wrong about it). But this fits to something I also observe for quite a while: Phil rarely presses buttons more than once or holds them down. I saw him starting attacks in other games with no chained combo (which is: mash your 1 attack button). Just like he's not bothered to check out what his buttons do - Only once at the beginning. He fights bosses one handed in Souls-games even so he was told that you can change to two-handed (Edit: Ironically his other extreme is to mash the attack button until he has no stamina to protect himself with the shield). He is/was unable to find the item menu in MGS2 because he ignored L2.
I haven't watched the TIHYDP of MGSV Phantom Pain but this could be a game where this behaviour bites him in the ass. Some games today have buttons with multiple functions, dependent of how long you press them and this is one of them.

I don't know much gamers who don't hold down buttons or mash them repeatedly. Isn't that something intuitive? Holding down buttons is something you do unintentional; just hold down your thumb instead of releasing it. A difference of 2mm in movement. Mashing is also easy: First attack hits so press the same button again. It's almost like he knows there are buttons that do something, but he can't connect the dots to use them correctly.

There are games which have "hidden mechanics" which will let you enjoy the game even more as soon as you discover it. But pressing all the buttons is not a hidden mechanic! What a gamer with a long time legacy, right? I don't wanna use the "true scotsman fallacy" but really... this guy is a gamer like my socks are hats. They are not made for this usage.

Yep, seems there's no power cable so it's just powered by USB. http://blog.astrogaming.com/2015/10/ps4-a40-mixamp-pro-tr-setup-guide/

That reminded me, DSP used to keep having this "too many USB devices connected" error, it would pop up repeatedly. This is from the Fortnite BR stream on January 11th, facecam covers up some of the message sadly. I wonder if that's a symptom of this problem... plus he generally has to replug his headset in to fix audio each stream.

I take back what I said earlier about Phil faking a heart attack on stream for extra support.

He's more likely to fake having cancer.

Snort, alright guys this is something serious. Burp, I have cancer. I'm not sure what the name is, its some like scientific words I can't even pronounce. I'm gonna need a certain amount of money for this, that I don't even know the full amount.
