[Post about people claiming Dragon Age elves are black]
It's funny because from what I can recall of the first two games the Dalish elves (read: free elves not living in ghettos) in the first two games pretty obviously had Irish/Welsh influences in how they were presented. This is especially obvious in the second game where the local clan all have Irish accents as far as I can recall with the Dalish party member (hailing from a different clan) sounding Welsh.
This is even before you get to looking at the whole Jewish "forced into ghettos and preserving a culture that emphasises a long lost unified civilisation" thing for city elves or the gypsy "moving about in small groups mostly not intergrating with outsiders" thing for the Dalish. About the only thing off the top of my head that Dragon Age elves had that could point to a "black" influence in their design is that they were once used as slaves. And it's kind of racist to automatically assume that only black people can be slaves so any fictional slave must actually be exclusively black, especially when the group you're using is obviously drawing from multiple different historically oppressed groups.
While we're at it calling anti-semitism something that's no longer a problem is pretty stupid given how often /pol/ tries telling me Jews are to blame for every minor inconvenience.
