I used to follow this sped, because i couldn't be bothered to look up whatever dumb shit Phil did. My god, the dude is unbearable when he brings his personality into tweets. He got quite a lot of shit for whiteknighting SoK during the Doper/Ardnas drama.

Just to add some info given that the suspension thread is closed, the name Hassan is incredibly common in the Arab/Muslim world, it's like a top 5 name.

So there is a (small) possibility that it could have been another, unrelated Hassan in DSP's stream. But even then, the autism involved in sending Hassan Bokhari countless tweets and messages because DSP claimed to have him as a contact is just .

Keep in mind that this is the same DSP whose other claims are immediately dismissed as lies, so why should he be treated as truthful here?

It was specifically a staff account at Twitch named Hassan. So I think its almost 100.00% certain its that exact Hassan. It still stands that its one of the stupidest things to happen in recent times.

You really have to be tactful in who you approach in situations like this. The previous example where DSP implied a journalist had said things about his detractors is quite different because journalists are more public-facing than Twitch staff (essentially glorified chatroom mods).

Twitch staff, moderators and Amazon do not owe anyone an explanation about their actions unless it involved someone doing actual criminal behavior on their streams. ebegging is not a crime. And if they were to issue a public statement they would probably not be using fucking Twitter for it.

The problem is, when its a hivemind no one is going to be very tactful.

The figure I gave was hyperbole but it was a significant number of tweets, not sure the exact number really matters other than to say its a lot. You can see by DSP's reaction that at some point he started to become fairly antagonistic too.

To be fair, the way Hassan responded does lend credibility to the claim that he's DSP's contact.

• Immediately appeals to emotion: This is honestly sad.
• Defends himself against accusations no one made that he "condoned" something
• Uses scare quotes (imagine DSP squinting and feigning ignorance while saying what's in quotes): I'm not his "twitch contact"
• Appeals to emotion again: what the heck?
• Demands undeniable proof the theory is correct

• Has not responded to anyone else regarding this, yet feels the need to get back on the podium
• Immediately employs an escape hatch (e.g. prove my point for me, I don't have to!): do some research

• Claims he doesn't get involved in moderation, despite previously claiming he went to DSP's stream in response to a forum posting crap about DSP

• Broadly defines anyone associated with this theory as "group of friends" to reduce both the credibility of the theory and people who support it
• Broad, sweeping statements to distance himself

Then he runs away never to be heard from again after spending 20 minutes of his lifeclock on this.

Frankly I think it's more believable that he is familiar with DSP and the forum he mentioned from before this incident and has more involved in policing DSP than he wants to admit. I wouldn't want to be known as the guy who wrangles DSP or supervises those who do either. I'd be effectively telling everyone "I'm a failure at my job" or "Yes, my employer is fine with everything DSP has done that it has recieved complaints regarding."

Possibly. The issue is that DSP is in a managed partnership, which naturally means he does actually have a person assigned to him who deals with his autism and the autism of his "fanbase".

I think its far more likely that this person just deals with Phil over email/contact form and not through anything like voice chat. I find it very hard to believe he'd be writing stuff like that in official emails when dealing with this.

Most likely turn of events is that he is actually DSP's contact or is someone at Twitch who has had to make a decision regarding the reports and DSP received a legitimate first strike on his account.

We already know this because DSP tried to bullshit about being "stronger than ever" but it still took 24 hours for him to get unbanned. Phil had no real way to manipulate the story on this except to say that his "inside contact" at Twitch told him everyone were idiots, the same contact who months ago supposedly told him he was being compliant when using Bits/cheers (when he wasn't) and the same contact who just now told him that he cannot do cheer goals related to "changing the nature of his stream".

I wouldn't say its "wrong" to ask the person questions, but when you open the floodgates you get all of Phil's alogs along for the ride. Go visit any one of their Twitter accounts and you'll see the same kind of shit you see on here "I HATE PHIL AND I FEEL BETTER WHEN BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO HIM I HOPE HE ENDS UP IN A CARDBOARD BOX!!!!!!"

This whole post is so well put together. The speculation of connection to DSP might be undermined by this essentially being how strangers on the internet argue/yell at each other. But that's a small aside to a thoughtfully laid out post.

His job description (from LinkedIn):
"Account manager for our partnered broadcasters, outreach to YouTubers, and work on cool projects for partner success."

This is basically 100% what his job involves on a day to day basis. And it seems he's also been a global Twitch mod for 7 years prior to that so its safe to say he's probably seen the autism involved with DSP and knows who he is by now.

Anyway, assuming he actually said nothing particular about the negative reporters (beyond "we've received many false reports regarding your channel") he'll probably understand why dealing with some people (DSP) can be dangerous.

Yeah he is up the hierarchy compared to a regular Twitch global mod or customer support person, but his being involved or communicating with DSP is 100% within his job title. Whether DSP is getting special favor or not is a good question, but from what I can see Hassan is perfectly acting within his job description by being involved with DSP's ban.
