The Week In Preview: Feb. 25, 2018 - Variety! Fundraiser, GTA, MP, Indies Marathon and more

Phil always tweets out important uploads. Looks like it burned him bad this time. Pretty much confirms what incurred the suspension -- begging. Also confirms that whoever reported him to Twitch included in their report that outrageous segment of the Week in Preview, where he explains that quarterly fundraisers are the future.

His big issue was tying Patreon tier goals to his sub count and then raising the bar each month.

Its one thing it hed been realistic but he wanted 50-100 NEW subs month and based that total off his save the house marathon where he did nothing but ask for shower video subs. So he should have known that wasn't a good goal.

So he abandons sub goal shilling and adds a tip goal of 2k. What's the 2k for? Fuck of anyone knows. And there's no reward for hitting the goal.

So he's got 4 current goals all of which don't count towards each other.

Nome of his streams cross. He needs to pick one and then have baseline+stretch goals each month so he can focus his viewers into one pool with visible progress isntead of stretching rewards so thin nobody bothers.

Burnell has been out of the objective job market for nearly a decade; that's a long gap to explain to any potential employer. So realistically he would have to trade his wares on the subjective job market: social media/networking type jobs. Which means he'd have to show his "body" of work. Another non-starter. Honestly his best long term option would be to just junk everything and go for an MBA, but that would require getting in somewhere and I do not see that ever happening.

. . .long and short, this really IS the only job the man can do right now. He's not going out of business anytime soon, but this is less a labor of love and more just labor. You can honestly see that in the quality of his streams this week: he's out of goodwill and is just trying to prop his body up, hoping that's enough to drive tips/subs/cheers. His best work is clearly behind him and realistically moving to Twitch was that turning point. If you're going to structure your Let's Plays in such a way where stream interaction is the primary draw you need to be able to "draw." And Phil can't. The funny thing is, if he could actually accept that and try and grow as a person, he might be able to pull slightly back from the brink, but that ego. "Change is defeat" and Phil would rather die on his own terms thank you very much.

Everyone is being too optimistic(Or rather grim?) about this. This is Phillbert Burnell the First, he is the PigRoach, he is the Triumphant king of Hate & Autism. You cannot kill that which has no life or shame.

Having his Patreon slowly dip down, having donations trickle down... will do nothing. Phil won´t change and he´ll continue to survive, like he always has. For good or bad.

What should scare us is the possibility of him growing boring, like Chris-chan.

I would bet most of the beggers I have seen have homes. They are wearing expensive coats, clean shaven, and aren't begging in a low-income area. They can make more money begging for a day or two (cover the bills) then actually getting a job. It's the same thing; they want a quick buck rather than solving their issue.

This is one of the main reasons his youtube channel has failed. Uploads 42 videos, all 10 minutes or less, titles are all the same with a different number, no custom thumbnails (Tevin mentioned this years back). So his viewers have no idea what is what and they get spammed with 40-50 videos a DAY. I've unsubbed from channels for that. I'm sure other people do as well. It's just lazy and it's confusing for the viewers.

Man, watching his pre-fundraiser video is refreshing...and sombering. He saying "I wont know how much I owe until weeks; maybe the end of March" is ludicrous. Hell, Phil's walking the line of being deceptive...and fraudulent. When you use a tax preparer it takes them 24hrs to do the math, apply the new tax year's rules/deductions and submit. The tax preparer knows once they submit to the IRS how much you owe or what your refund is. Phil gets away with lying to people. I blame his fans for this. He is not being honest. He would know right now--using taxcut or H.R Block online system. But, he has to go through his receipts for last year. I will admit time consuming---for someone that doesn't log their purchases weekly. Like sensible contractors or sub-contractors do. It takes 24-36hrs for a tax prepare to know the debt or refund. He really wanted to milk the "tax situation" until April. Con man. I'm actually happy Twitch kicked his teeth in on this fundraiser shit.

He wants what I call a "gap job" where he sits at a computer shit-posting due to over-staffing. The company has the budget for employees, and managers want as many employees under them (good for their career) regardless of talent or productivity.

C'mon! He was a Continues Improv - uhhh - Continues Improvement Individual. That's a real certification he can take to the bank! Only detractors, and haters, would say that it was a nice way of calling him a lazy tard-tzar.

No, he hasn't cared about his job in years. The selection of games he plays is bizarre, to say the least. He barely plays any new games, which was his shtick back in the day when he was actually popular. Now that everybody does that and he's been exposed as a terrible entertainer, he desperately tries to stand out in the most contrarian ways possible, but in doing so alienates everyone except his dwindling audience. As a consequence, he misses out on games when they get the most attention, crying about the game is being overhyped and pushed by big streamers dood. Then when he finally relents and decides to play them months later, he cries about the hype being gone so he's not going to bother.

The other day during his #%&raiser prestream when he was giving the upcoming schedule, he was talking about his indie marathon this weekend and said, 'I'll be playing that game 'Getting Over It' that apparently a lot of people were playing in December'....
