"Kat has made me mini-mocha brownie bites, and I’m very happy bc they are alleviating my frustrations tonight!"
I can easily imagine Phil stomping around the house yelling about Secret of Mana for hours and Kat finally telling him she'll make brownies if he calms down. Nothing soothes him more than a stomach full of food, especially sweets. He really is a petulant child.

Yeah, looks like things will be somewhat similar to last month, barring any major donations. If youtube and Patreon stay roughly the same, Phil's total take would something like $1400 (youtube, assuming similar views and $1 CPM), ~$800 (patreon), ~$3600 subs/cheers, $1400 tips, so around $7200, but that's before taxes and fees. If Phil is pulling money into a bank account, the fees from Twitch should only be 60 cents per transaction, so that's pretty much nothing. Keep in mind that Phil's estimated monthly bills (not including food, game purchases, and anything unexpected) are also around $7200.
Because my autism has limits I'll ask if anyone else knows: DSP keeps whining about "the Republican tax changes" as though they're going to harm him. As far as I can tell in his situation there are no changes that would harm him and two that would benefit him (a larger automatic taxable income reduction for everyone who doesn't itemize and a separate taxable income reduction for pass-through businesses and sole proprietors.) Does anyone know what changes could allegedly harm him and cause him to owe more in taxes in 2018 forward?

30 plus uploads a day is fucking ludicrous. But you know as that YT ad revenue continues to decrease, Phil is just gonna upload more. I could easily imagination this asshole uploading 50 videos in a day.

I mean relative to one person it is, but there are channels that definitely upload quite a bit; mostly news and/or media channels. And they at least try and stick a useful thumbnail on them. That graphic with Heavy Rain and Secret of Mana videos is so telling; it's clear someone made those Heavy Rain thumbnails for him. His channel would look like so much less of a mess if he just came out and solicited thumbnails for his breakthroughs. Now it looks unprofessional with a noticeable lack of consistency.

. . .also not wanting to delve to far into this guys videos, I'm guessing he's blaming the game dev's for only autosaving at the beginning of a dungeon? Has anyone asked the obvious question "why weren't you saving. . ." (I actually forgot how the save system in SoM works).

The Republican tax plan made it easier for individuals who are self-employed to file. He's full of shit.

I doubt that LTG would play Phil, he might, but the chance is slim!
He wont play Phil because:
  1. LTG really dislikes Phil, despite being a fan of his earlier!
  2. LTG just simply assume that he is far superior than Phil and dont wanna take a risk losing!
  3. Last time he was challanged by another SFV player he have a quarrel with, he killed (blocked) the messenger.
On top of that i doubt Phil would seriously go through with it, just something he says that he would do!

If DSP played LTG in SFV right now, LTG would wipe the floor with him just like he did in USF4.

Am i the only one who is shocked that someone who, (and i use the term loosely) earns, $7200 a month is struggling? I know he's crippled with debt if that is indeed true, but come the fuck on i know people here in the UK that survive on £10,000 a year, Phil really makes me shake my head in disbelief.

This man cannot make a public statement without getting insta-slammed.

Also, the fact that DSP once called himself a "game reviewer" while making these complaints just blows my mind.

The game's name is the secret of MANA for christ sake, and this was a game he apparently "Played and beat multiple times" in the old days, he's full of bullshit and only his autistic braindead fans will actually believe what he lies

Whenever I see him talk to someone like that, he comes across as such a twat. "This is common sense". Nothing makes sense about his shit weird decisions.

Finish a game you've pumped 30-ish hours into and forced your stream to watch.

This is common sense.

50k videos on youtube is his real legacy: that his viewers were only a number, and he tried to squeeze x more views from one person by splitting the footage into tons of videos, like every match in a fighting game had its own video. His youtube audience who carried him so far are still the same thing to him: a number. He does not want to interact with them (turning off comments) and he was always looking for exploits that gets him more views and a wider range (like fiddling with the search engine).

Assuming $100K of income each year:

2017 taxes
  • $89,350 taxable income after $6,500 standard deduction and $4,150 personal exemption
  • $18,076 federal income tax owed
  • $15,300 FICA owed
  • $33,376 total tax owed to the federal government (the only taxing authority I'm discussing since I'm focusing on the law change)
2018 taxes
  • $68,000 taxable income after $12,000 standard deduction and $20,000 pass-through/self-employment deduction
  • $10,899 federal income tax owed
  • $15,300 FICA owed (nothing changed in the law just including it for completeness)
  • $26,199 total tax owed to the federal government
The takeaway is that unless something changed with his itemizations that cost him in excess of $7,000 in taxes he's ignorant, fear-mongering, or both. He would have to lose $30,500 of itemized deductions to increase his taxes due by $7,000. So he's 100% full of shit no matter which way you look at it.

Anybody knows why he uses the word "100%" so much? Like every comment he makes has this in it, look at this recent post he did, he was responding to 2 comments, and there was an 100% in it for each of his comment. And don't forget

"Any tips you send to me, goes 100% to the tax...."

Saying the word 100% 100 times doesn't mean you are telling the truce Phil, the only thing that is 100% is that you are 100% pigroach and you are 100% a moronic e-begger who lies everyday to scam money from brainless paypigs

Sounds like a line his new tax attorney fed him to squeeze more money out of him tbh. "Yeah normally we'd only charge X for this, but because of these NEW REPUBLICAN TAX CODES, you know, it's all really uncertain so we'll have to charge you extra, I'm sure a college educated guy like you understands..." and of course Phil doesn't question it at all because he's every salesman's dream.

Assuming $100K of income each year:
[snip]
My assumption, thinking back to comments he has made, is that DSP is freaking out about the removal of the $4,150 personal exemption, which is stupid. For those unfamiliar you used to me able to itemize deductions (meaning you could use the $6,500 standard deduction or itemize instead if itemizing saved you money) AND use the personal exemption. Starting in 2018 you cannot. You have to choose between a significantly higher standard deduction and itemizing. Meaning if you could previously write off $8,000 by itemizing you got to reduce your taxable income by $12,151 and now you can only reduce your taxable income by $12,000 instead. Some people really got their knickers in a knot about that, but it doesn't appear to be very impactful as it only affects people with in a pretty specific situation ($8,000 or so in itemized deductions and up.)

Is there anyway of telling how much he actually gets on patreon currently? Cause if subs are down then patreon has to be even worse, because more people sub to get a shout out. It used to show the exact $ figure that he had per month

He probably took that feature down when people started to look too deeply into it

What do you mean? It still shows the dollars per month over on his Patreon page.
