I really honestly wonder how long AL would make it without someone with a car? I can't picture her ever using public transportation. It is a power differential in all her relationships. I mean she would eventually have to take transit/Uber or learn to fucking drive. Just like any other addict she keeps a parade of people around her that will enable her lifestyle. No bottom lines. She is going to become more and more dependent on Becky to be her caretaker. Will Becky become fiercely and blindly devoted to enabling her addictions and behaviors...or will it grow old and she will peace out? The truth that Amber is fighting against and feeling so poorly about herself is that she is just kind of a shitty person. She is. That is a depressing truth. She can't step away enough to see that. We all have times in our lives that we behave less then ideally. She just wont make one positive change in her life to improve herself even in the slightest. I would hazard a guess that she is afraid of how her relationships will change if she becomes a healthier, happier, indepent person. Being in the foster system will really condition you into a certain way of thinking to get your needs met. What once was an adaptive survival skill is now maladaptive and poisonous to her relationships. Emotional intelligence is something AL struggles with which in turn makes insight a hard thing to master.
