2018.
Everyone knows the meme about Phil surviving forever, but this year is a bit different.
- backtaxes
- kat expenses
- YouTube has made less money for him than ever previously
- Patreon is down by a large amount
- 3-4 large supporters have all found better shit to do
- reduced level of tips/cheers over time because there are better streamers out there
- people not being as interested in him because he spends an hour every day discussing his taxes and then explaining to people already using twitch how they can tip/cheer/sub/patreon/teespring even though its already written.
I'm having a hard time believing at the current rate he'll even make as much as he thinks he will by mid April but he's really starting to fade off, especially when you look at all of those things combined.
Even if he manages to pay off what he owes in April, he still has plenty of tax payments due. He's making less than on Twitch now and YouTube is making less and less each month. Eventually its going to reach a point where he can't make his multiple debt payments on time and that's when he's going to have to sell the house.
I think once he sells the house, it'll mean taking 2-3 weeks off at the very least and I think he might actually reach a point where he decides he doesn't want to do this shit anymore.
Unless he really changes the way he does his streams, there doesn't seem to be any way that he's going to be able to make it work and the problem is that he doesn't make any effort to change things up. But this is already known, his own fans give him valuable advice and he takes none of it.
