This is a board dedicated to laughing at retards. It would stand to reason that many of the members in here aren't going to give a shit if someone's feelings are hurt.

He simply doesn't understand the sole purpose of those algorithms: get people to watch as many videos as possible. If you watch a bunch of videos on YouTube from the search results and the related videos sidebar and they're all garbage you're going to get off the site and go do something else. If you watch a bunch of videos on YouTube from the search results and the related videos sidebar and they're all great you're going to keep watching videos on the site until 3:45 AM despite needing to do other things like sleep.

YouTube doesn't give a shit about kahntent creators; they're just a means to an end. If YouTube could get away with buying up server farms and having them sit there and watch videos and consequently view ads and invest less money and work than getting kahntent creators to put stuff on their site they'd do it.

Phils chat is in followers only mode. The best way to attract a new audience. When you have 200 viewers and can't chat with anyone that is a really good incentive to stay. I think half an hour is too little though. I would increase that, and clear the chat a bit more often. It makes a really good environment for everyone.

It might be off-topic or whatever but to add to this new-found thought process ahem

like 9 years ago I was subbed to a dude on YouTube called "Tatsudoshi" he made videos and streamed to pay his bills way before twitch was a major streaming entity. Back then he was struggling cause he lived with his now ex wife, and her brother but they were cool so whenever he streamed I could be considered a major income source. He also had big dreams of one day working for RoosterTeeth and one day he decided to pursue it, with the help of fans like me, so we made a big push on twitter, he got the job as editor and made a show on AH. But when he got that job he decided he didn't need his friends anymore, so he dumped all of us, blocked us on twitter, divorced his wife (leaving her in California), and took her brother with him. Since that day I've kinda been trying to make sure more people like me don't get taken advantage of because some dude thinks they can scam people out of good will and leave them when they are not of use.

The gist of that long powerleveling story is, although it's funny to see these obvious kids being pulled in by the GoutLord, the sooner they realize they are being conned, the better.

Back when pyromegadeath and company used to do DSP stuff, they always referred to him as doing "LPs for the blind." I didn't think he'd take it to heart.
