So by show of e-hands, who actually watched You Can Play This! back when it was still up and running? I personally didn't, but I'm honestly curious to hear from any of you who considered (or even still consider) yourselves fans of his.

I'd imagine it's like the Bill Cosby or the Jared from Subway situation, only on a smaller scale and even more autistic. Regardless, it must really, really suck to try to go back to something you loved while trying to ignore that tainted image in your heads that's bad to think about but deep down you know will never leave.

I was a big, big fan of YCPT and JewWario's content in general as a teenager. His show was one of the big things that got me into import gaming and I dug his tokusatsu reviews too, so I had some fond memories- even after outgrowing TGWTG, he was one of the few contributlrs I continued to follow on their personal sites l. Shit, I can still hear bits of tge theme song in my head to this day. I distinctly remember Justin being considered this really nice dude- even the 4chan gossip threads were generally kind about him, especially since he was known for keeping out of the drama. He kinda backed it up with some of his livestreams too. Like, there's a bit of one of his streams that went around after he died that I'll have to dig up, but it was a pretty heartfelt bit on how you should't be down on yourself and all that.

To find out the guy was a predator hasn't been very fun to say the least. Really sours some pretty fond memories, and casts more than a little doubt on his stuff with the fandom. Stuff like calling his fandom the 'JewWario Catgirl Army' feels a lot shadier now, as opposed to being a cheeky, harmless weeb joke.

To be fair to some of the former CA producers/staff, I don't think most of the smaller contributors to the doc were aware of JewWario's true colors. Like Dr. Gonzo, for instance, and his story about Michaud refusing to greenlight the tribute video he wanted to make in memory of him. The dude was pretty much a nobody on the site (which, of course, is saying a lot), so he didn't really have that much to lose. Even the bigger ex-producers who helped write the doc didn't/don't seem to know who the fuck he was/is.

As for Holly, I can kind of understand why she kept it a secret for so long, if only because it was sort of in her as an HR/PR person to keep dark secrets like that. But as for people like Allison, Kaylyn, Lindsay, and Lewis? If they weren't in on it, I hope they come to terms with the fact that their side is just as flawed as the people they're fighting against. But if they were? Fuck 'em, they can be thrown to the wolves for all I care.

Perhaps this is what makes the CA clusterfuck so great. It's clear everyone in the situation is a massive fuckup. All there is for us to do is sit on the sidelines and munch popcorn. At this point there's no moral high ground, there's just schadenfreude. Enjoy it! The great reviewtard battle of our time is upon us!

This whole thing has actually made me hate Dan Olson on a personal level. The Cheese Pizza made him a lolcow but his behavior since then along with accounts such as Dankula saying the Chez Apocalypse crew had the moral maturity of a high school clique makes me seriously wish Olson gets socked in the jaw Richard Spencer style. That he and Lindsay can still shed so much effort over a fucking Twitter spat fight, can still claim they were on the right side of history when half of the anti Gamergate crowd have been found to be sex pests is either willful ignorance or downright sociopathy.

I think whats most messed up about all of this that everyone from CA has their hands dirty in some way.

Well yeah. From the chat log Michaud posted Doug was clearly in on the discussion regarding JW being let go. Before that point I’m hesitant to call any one out for “knowing”. Most of us don’t “know” about that sort of thing. We may notice things or behaviors that are raising red flags for us. But we generally don’t believe our lying eyes until somebody else asks the question and thus affirms to us that it’s not just us. Plus you have to assume that there was a much higher mental threshold regarding “weird and creepy” behavior for anyone spending time around channel awesome best and brightest.

I’ve watched Moviebobs... and believe it or not Olson’s are actually more arrogantly mean spirited. Without any of Moviebobs more positive qualities. And yes I realize the enormity of what I am saying.
