I think his real mistakes were the multiple marriages and children. I never could quite fit in on SA. I'm just not able to convince myself that bans and probations are just "part and parcel" of posting on a forum. It's always been so weird going there and scrolling through a thread and seeing easily half of the posters are banned.

It's just become so normalized as part of the culture there that mod behavior like that is completely expected. Even though FAU is really pushing it to ridiculous extremes, what are you gonna do about it? Nothing. You'll get banned.

I find it odd that almost all thread in the QCS forum get closed. He does that awful "hey we admins are totally normal reasonable people our door is always open just email us we are friendly"

So if an issue comes up he will happily say "well we are here to enforce the rules please provide proof" and then just keep moving the goal posts till he s basically asking for a notarized confession written in the blood of a unicorn.
