It's reassuring that the girls on the team are so pissed, but their leader is so intent to be kind and open-minded that she'll bomb their team and enable someone who is absolutely 100% an autogynephile - because gay boys just audition as themselves - to be mandatorily included in activities they're not entitled to. Plus she's a woman in a leadership position who's just ignoring the clearly-stated positions of almost all of her members so she can turn a competitive sport into a Right Side of Herstory soapbox. I feel really sorry for them.

This is going to be pretty interesting to watch unfold. I'd like to watch the meeting she has with the school officials when she's asked to explain:
Why they no longer have a cheerleading team.
Why she went ahead with the idea even after the girls said no, the parents said no, and the team threatened to walk.
Why she torpedoed her team and ruined the cheerleading careers of all the other girls on the team.
Why she decided it was more important to be CURRENT YEAR politically correct than smart.
Why she thinks she should keep her job.

I mean, the troon sort of set himself up for failure, as they often do. What was he expecting? He'd get on the team and everything would just be fine? In reality, he's either going to be rejected, kick up a stink, blame the Cis-triarchy or whatever, and troon out in general, or he's going to be accepted and be known as the troon that dismantled the cheerleading team.

I don’t think it’s quite as deliberately calculated as that. Sure there are some troons who are autogynephiles like Guillaume LaBelle, and there are some who are dishonest like Jake Alley. But this doesn’t explain the explosion of FtM trans kids in the last decade.

Pop culture, especially for teens, is hyper-sexualized and highly demanding. Kids are bombarded with messages that they must and behave look a certain way. If you are X, or are not Y, or don’t have Z, you’re bad. The fact that so many SJWs are nerdy and/or unattractive is not a coincidence. This type of social pressure is far worse for teenage girls. To relieve this anxiety, the solution is to simply not be a woman, or a man as the case may be.

I believe the transgender explosion is a rejection of a hyper-sexualized culture. Like any good teenage rebellion, it attracts people who want to be in on the new hip and trendy thing. However, it doesn’t address the underlying root problem of the anxiety towards one’s own appearance or gendered behavior. The dysphoria and suffering can be real, sure. However, the high rate of comorbidity with mood disorders that are not alleviated by transitioning indicate that these are symptoms of greater problems, and not the cause.
