I think the parts that are really telling are the constant emphasis on being extremely awkward around people, being riddled with social anxiety, and a deep desire to "fit in." The fact that they describe coming to the conclusion as a prospective opportunity to "be happy with myself" raises a ton of red flags, and based on the later comments I'm assuming they didn't talk to a therapist about this at all before diving into transitioning.

Hell, I wonder if the "all my friends left me" came around less because of the actual trans part and more because they just sound so high-maintenance even prior to deciding they were trans. The "I can't go anywhere unless I know someone else who is there" (translation: "I'm going to awkwardly tail behind whoever I know there for the entire event and probably won't even talk to anyone else anyways"), the "I went to a therapist for a month or two and have sworn off all therapy," and the apparent desire to just ignore all advice regardless already makes them sound exhausting to deal with. I can't imagine what other arbitrary social rules and expectations they have for people even prior to transitioning, much less the trans-specific rules that were likely added on top of that.

Dude seriously needs therapy, not a reddit forum.

Bad mental healthcare support (too expensive, not available everywhere) and a prevalent anti-psychiatry attitude is to blame for a lot of this. The problem with therapy in general is that it's not pleasant. It's also not something that's done on you like an xray is done on you or like a doctor that is setting your bones - you have to actively work - with the therapist. This means trusting the therapist, this means taking a hard and long look at yourself and this also means admitting unpleasant things to yourself.

That's why a good professional connection between therapist and patient (while still maintaining a distance) is also important. Sometimes two people just don't have chemistry and then it's time to keep looking for a therapist. Sadly the real situation is that trying different therapists in many places often means being on wait lists for literally years. The entire process of therapy also is slow, awkward and takes time, a good therapist will never put a name on a problem without having seen the patient for a few sessions and getting to know him well. A lot of people find that process frustrating, go to four sessions, maybe spend a considerable amount of money and then decide the therapy doesn't work even though they didn't even really start therapy yet. The lolcows on this board here are usually worst case scenarios. (and have all an anti-psychiatry attitude in common) All this mental health stuff can really, really help people and often does. It's just not easy or a silver bullet.

The only therapists these people go to are so called gender therapists and the only thing these people do is affirm their identities since questioning them is considered conversion therapy thanks to Obama.
The underlying mental health issues never get adressed.

It's important to understand that being trans is seen as the CAUSE of mental health problems not a symptom of it. Surgery and hormones are therfore the solution to these problems which is bullshit of course.

Tall natal women still look like feminine and are pretty thin for their height. I'm talking naturally tall women not ones with a health condition to explain their height. Not barrel chested, beer guts sporting, neanderthal looking motherfuckers like many tall nerd men. Tall women tend to workout and be involved in sports, while nerd men use their height as an excuse to eat a lot of food.

Nobody is going to look at 6'7 tall trans woman with a receding hair line and built like a gorilla and think "Wow she's just like Briene from Game of Thrones". You'll hear people say that a lot on transgender forums, in spite of height loss not being a documented side effect of estradiol, spironolactone or cyproterone (which is prescribed more commonly to male-to-female transsexuals outside of the US). However it happens to be a side effect of finasteride, which is prescribed to treat hair loss.
