TGWTG The Spoony One / Spoony / Noah Antwiler and Rachel Baker / @RaeAngel07 - The touching romance between a washed-up videogame reviewer throwing a decade-long pity party and his delusional Canuck stalker. #weaknotsick #donttellmehowtosulk

I'm feeling really bad for April. I can't imagine what it's like living with someone like that, trying to love and help him as best she can and it just never being enough. Noah needs to be admitted somewhere, where he can be supervised by professionals 24/7. I think that's the only thing that might save him, but it's probably already too late for even that.

I would agree with feeling sorry for April if I didn't feel like she was enabling his bad behavior and anti-social tendencies.

I mean is it just me or did Spoony get worse after joining up with her?

Well, she accepts Noah the way he is; Doing absolutely nothing productive and being irrationally angry at stuff she dislikes. If he even hinted at having a change of heart about his political opinions, she would spin on a dime like a top. Unless her "I love you" was completely unrelated to the fact Spoony was strawmanning the fuck out of an unexistent community backlash like it was the new goobergaaber coming to town.

Just face it, he's always been insufferable, but when Noah had stuff to do and content to create, most people didn't really care how much of an ass he made of himself on his forums or on social media. As soon as the content stops coming, the sperging is the only entertainment left, and April obviously prefers him that way.

Why feel sorry for someone who got exactly the kind of relationship she wanted?

DM: "You encounter a dragon"
My Friend: "I want to seduce the dragon"
DM: "You can't seduce the dragon"
My Friend: "Roll for seduction!"
DM: "You can't seduce the dragon!"
Ahh the classic seduce the dragon scenario, I've seen it attempted several times, with varying degrees of success. The thing with the chucklenuts vs hardcore roleplayers vs power gamers is just a matter of having a constant group mentality, the worst thing you can have are a few power gamers mixed into a more plot and role play focused game, or a few chucklenuts in a dungeon crawl with a bunch of power gamers.

This is interesting: A large Spoony project circa 2008 I've somehow never heard of. As far as I can tell, it's never been mentioned by him or hosted on the TSE website or any content mirrors. This Youtube channel isn't linked to or from anything. While it has 15,000~ views, the only reference I can find to it at a glance is a buried NeoGAF thread from September 2008 with 5 posts. My guess is that he posted it to the TSE forums so it doesn't turn up in search results anymore.

In short, Noah unearthed an obscure Laserdisc FMV game and uploaded it in a video format for viewers to "play", which is an idea that actually ended up becoming very popular in the following years as video length caps made it doable with just a couple of videos instead of dozens of clips as Spoony tried here.

He didn't finish it, but this is a neat piece of Spoony history. He's an extremely prolific guy who had an enormous fanbase so it's strange when some of his works just disappear or go unnoticed, like the Mashable award video and most of his E3 2012 vlogs.

Side note: The search function on The Spoony Experiment website appears to have stopped working entirely. It only returns a 500 error now.

As a rule of thumb, any of Noah's content that you enjoy should be backed up somewhere, because he sure as hell is not going to bother. Luckily people who like the content tend to reupload stuff that their old creators just stop giving a crap about *coughkatcough*

It's the age old question: Who does the art belong to? The artist or the people? (spoiler: the answer is people, that's what they paid the artist for)

I remember this! Spoony was attempting (I think) to turn this into a series/archival project. He was going to take all of these dead, unplayable FMV games and upload them in such a way that they would be able to be replayed by people through the YouTube platform.

Commendable effort. Spoony-tier execution.

I'll commend him on the attempt. It was the best idea he could think of, and he's far and away not the first person to have done so. There are a lot of "play by video" FMV games on Youtube, like I said.

His return stream last summer was actually playing one. It was a YT version of Power Klingon since he couldn't get his original copy to run anymore.

Oh hey, I never noticed he actually gave Final Fantasy IX a try on stream in January. Good for him, fans were begging him to play it for ages and--

... ohhhhhhhhhhhh.

Yikes.

Speaking of Spoony's unawareness of how similar to his mental image of Trump he is, I find the following part of his Ultima series particularly brutal given the nature of his demise (31:06 if timestamp fails):

Be fair, it's a legit joke about how NPCs don't evolve beyond their roles in games no matter how their economy bursts at the seams from the player's interactions.

At least I hope it is. At times it really felt like he wasn't acting or being jovial, but showing genuine frustration. Especially the fucking skit about his "fans only wanting to see him suffer." Not that he was wrong.

Yeah if it wasn't for him becoming a lazy, jobless sponger who refuses to leave where he sits it would've remained a fun little bit, it's just depressing how he has basically become exactly what he is lampooning.

Spoony finally "responds" to the CA drama.

I think his phrasing makes it extremely transparent that he knows full well about the JewWario accusations and is trying his damnedest to avoid addressing them. I suspect this will go the way of Juan if he ever streams again.

'I just want to make people laugh.'. Well, you succeed, but not because you are funny Noah. You USED to be funny. Now you are just someone people laugh at for being a fuckin' sped.

It's really baffling how lacking in self awareness Spoony is. He is a washed up video game reviewer/ 'comedian' , infact, hold on, let me tweak the title to include those little subtitles.

Okay that "I just want to make people laugh" part really fucking bothers me.

Spoony hasn't uploaded any real content since 2016. At most he's been doing the odd stream that ends up showing how much of a bitter and angry person he is. And his Twitter is an endless stream of hatred, about 90% of which is directed towards Trump. No matter what platform you're viewing Spoony on, there's zero positivity coming from him.

Spoony isn't making people laugh, at least not the way he wants them to laugh, and he hasn't been making them laugh for years now. And yet he has the balls to say that making people laugh is his job.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Plissken.

That last sentence is what matters. It's an implicit admission that he knows damn well what's going on and is pretending to ignore it. It's such disingenuous horseshit I can't muster any sympathy for his desire to avoid conflict. Noah is self-pitying to a contemptible degree.

Mind if I quote you on that in the OP?

Although I'm sure I'm just being cynical here (everyone needs a hobby) Noah is one of my favorite candidates for narcissistic personality disorder, and the fun thing about that is that every event just has to be about you, including someone else's misfortune. If I wasn't as pessimistic, I'd probably just take it as he says, that JewWario was a dear friend of his and it was a terrible shock to him what happened, and everyone has their own way and time to grief, but this is the Farms, so here I go with some very nasty speculation:

He gets such an abundance of pity out of the guy's death that it just lingers and keeps coming up, same way he has to keep reminding everyone how very depressed and in need of medical attention he is and "these damn doctors are throwing the proverbial book at me!" At some point I just start to suspect that the pity is worth being stuck in the ditch for him. Even the CA-stuff, not just "no comment, please, I don't want to be involved with this" but a "WOE IS ME, THE PAST HAS BEEN CRUEL. I CANNOT CARRY ON."

How long do you have to give someone time to grief in the US before you finally get to slap them across their blubbering face and tell them to move on? This isn't healthy, man.
