he def isnt making enough to get by and pay the taxes. if kat wasnt living with him I think he would have sold the house by now. even if she just has a little above a minimum wage job it is enough for things like groceries, gas, cable etc. My guess is she makes between 40-60k. which is really bailing his ass out and is a big jump from pandas no profit soap business. Cause the #'s he has been putting up have been terrible, even with his emergency birthweek stream he didnt even come close to half of what he was shooting for

Pretty sure she's working 4 days a week (despite Phil's insistence that they only have one day together). He's fucked up a couple of times and mentioned she was in the residence when he had otherwise indicated she was working. That said, there's one big wildcard that's tough to pin down, and that's Youtube. Phil's been consistently around 1.5-1.7M monthly views. I've been assuming $1 CPM, which would of course mean about $1500-1700 a month from Youtube. But what if it's $1.50 or even $2 CPM? Then he's getting up to $3000 a month from Youtube views or around $36000 a year. And if you buy Phil's statement from the end of the year that Twitch and Youtube were roughly even in terms of income, that means Phil made somewhere around $40000 from Youtube last year.

Kat's income helps, for sure, but given that she bought a PS4 Pro with her tax refund instead of putting some toward shared bills, I wouldn't assume it's making a massive difference. Far more likely is that Phil is getting more from Youtube than he lets on, even as his Twitch income has increased.

You're likely right. He started baiting in the last 15 minutes that 'Ludwig will be the next stream'.

Not sure if others streamers do this but DSP loves to leave his viewers with blue balls. So he'll say "okay we're at Ludwig let's do this!" then he will abruptly end the stream and plan it for next time. It's this aggravating thing he does when he gets to a point in a game where something entertaining is about to happen. He's very rigid about his schedule and will almost always end on time.

Never heard of any successful streamer do such an asinine thing. The whole point of streaming is to be entertaining, not a bus route.

There's a reason why bands do an encore; When the audience wants to keep going, you're doing good. Telling your audience that you're going home because you don't wanna isn't just doing bad, it's taking a sledgehammer to your business while the sponsor is tied to a chair and forced to watch, Clockwork Orange-style.

Phil likely tells everyone and himself that he's "being professional" without even comprehending that there's more types of "professional" than just a 9-to-5 office worker.

WiP is up relatively early.

Through much lip smacking and very fast rambling, Phil spells out that he will likely be tackling State of Decay early (noting it's worth the extra price to stagger his schedule, nothing to be said about 'playing it early'). He will also be playing Dead Space 2 soon. Fingers crossed that if there is another Twitch ban, even if it is temporary, it happens during the Dead Space 2 run. Just to make it a real classic throwback run. That said, because he was speeding through the WiP, I feel like I was short changed on my fanservice, Philip. I think I'd rather have some DSPTries It.

He's very rigid about his schedule and will almost always end on time.

Especially lately. He's very rigid about his end time, but less so about his start time, which is pretty telling. Some other streamers 'bait', but it often makes more sense, stopping either before or after the bosses depending on time and stream attendance. But then very few are embarking on 'redemption runs' or facing hyped boss fights because they died to it 60 times to it in a previously maligned playthrough, so they don't know what is right around the corner. Phil is unique, just not in the ways he would like.

Guys, Phil can't stream for longer than his scheduled time because if he sat for that long he could get a blood clot and die! People complaining about him not playing for longer is literally trying to murder him! And let's face it people, Phil would have to talk for longer and his throat is already pretty sore from talking all day.

It would be like if your boss came up and asked you to stay for another hour. Hahaha no way idiot! I'm scheduled to go home! You can't make me stay.

On a side note if anyone knows any helicopter factories that are hiring I need a new job because I was fired for no reason.

He's back to cheering overnight. For the month:

goldencolts cheered [27] times totalling $32.65 (avg. cheer of $1.21; 1.74% of total)
goldencolts is a $4.99 level sub.

So, no, unless that dude does something crazy, he's no longer the cashcow he once was.

Golden Colts isn't likely to make the leaderboard with his cheers these days since he just made a very expensive move across the country. As Golden Colts is from NYC, he thought Lincoln, Nebraska was a real podunk town and wanted out (see u/goldencolts on Reddit).

But, make no mistake: Golden Colts remains an avid dickrider of Phil's. Phil mentioned that Golden Colts had apologized for his absence during the move and current lack of funds in a recent prestream when he returned to regularly cheering overnight.

You see, Golden Colts is a man of culture. You can totally tell by his taste in streamers and praise of Kat's cooking.

WiPshit recap:

Monday: God of War / PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
Tuesday: Bloodborne / Yakuza 6
Wednesday: God of War / Call of Duty: World War II
Thursday: Bloodborne / Yakuza 6
Friday: Ultra Street Fighter II / PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
Saturday: [DAY OFF]

Somehow this video is sub-20 minutes. Phil opens talking up the month of May, then turns into a plug for Patreon.
He discusses how people got "burned out" on God of War and how people came back for PUBG and USF2. He says this week is a "variety week".
He won't be playing the new PUBG map, but he'll play the game for the monies.
He intends to beat Ludwig and continue with The Old Hunters DLC.
Phil believes that COD: WWII has some new updates. (personal note: yeah, DLCs... which he won't buy)
Phil is continuing to play USF2 to prepare for SF30.
Once Phil begins finishing GoW and BB, he plans to begin Dead Space 2. Phil thinks that having played DS2 once means he'll be caught by jump scares. "I think we're gonna be good until mid-May" (who on Earth ased for that?)
He is again confirming his mid-May-cation.
He talks about games coming out in May: State of Decay 2, H1Z1, Detroit: Become Human, and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary.
He gloats about doing well in Street Fighter 30A online and wanting to do tutorial videos.
He talks about potentially buying the Special Edition of SoD2 to play it four days early. (in b4 streaming embargo) He goes at length talking about playing SD2 early, as if he's already made up his mind.
He says that his stream chat told him not to play H1Z1, but since he never played it (being a console scrub) he's going to ignore them.
He's playing Vampyr and also talking up E3.
He says April was a good month overall, but streaming was "down a bit" until he started playing USF2 and PUBG again.
He ends with a Patreon plug and talking about how his website is down for "hardware upgrades".

Here is Ikas_Ando, the asshole who I've seen literally beg and grovel for a shoutout from Phil on his night streams. He also brags about his "well paying" job, how he works ohh soo early in the morning, and he always calls Phil "Phillip." Note the redneck appearance, lawn chair, and trademark beer bottle in his hand. 'murica!!!

He replaying Dead Space 2? so at this point are all these "redemption" runs his scheme to get footage of himself uploaded where he doesn't fuck up? Must be an ego thing. The problem is that if someone searches DSP Dead Space 2 the Nazi footage will probably be the first result.

Also it's so blatantly obvious he's using a guide for all these redemption runs. Maybe not a guide per say but somebody or something is feeding him information. He can't remember shit that happened last week but he remember bloodborne like back of his hand.

That, and the playthrough is fucking ancient now. I guess you can say the detractor videos would be the first result, but Phil's actual videos of Dead Space 2 would be the final solution.:woo:

Well, at least he is consistent with something in his miserable little life.

Few of us in chat managed to troll him into staying on longer back when he was on YT saying there was only like 10 minutes left. 45 Minutes later he started bitching us out saying we don't know what we're on about. That might be partly why he doesn't run past his set times any more.

The Dead Space 2 thing could go either way. On one hand not a lot of people will be playing it, but on the other hand horror may be the least popular genre for Phil to play since he doesn't react to scares. He doesn't have to go full scare cam, although if he did it would be another strike on the hypocrisy scoreboard, but no selling everything leads to a boring playthrough.
Speaking of hypocrisy, State of Decay 2. At this point we all know whenever Phil goes on a rant about things people shouldn't be doing it is accompanied by *except for me because I think i'm above others and deserve it more then anyone. Would be funny if he spends the cash and they put an embargo on streaming until release day, but this seems like a game that could use the exposure to push a few more sales through.
Finally, I see nothing wrong with Phil playing a month of Street Fighter to hype up the viewers for when Phil plays Street Fighter. Burn out the viewers so much that they do a 180 and become excited again. May be his best plan since he put out the intro to Kat video.

I wonder what difficulty he'll do for Dead Space 2. Probably normal or easy (since there's no 1488 difficulty), and he'll only use plasma cutter.

He will pick boring old normal difficulty as always. He could make his streams more fun by picking a harder difficulty but he just wants to get through the games as quick as possible. Not that Dead Space 2 is hard unless you're playing on Hardcore mode and even then the only hard bit is lack of checkpoints and 3 saves.
