It has most certainly been asked before but what is the educated guess on what he is going to do with himself when it all finally falls apart?

He hasn't had a job in years (so no references, experience or training), he has plenty of expenses and he certainly doesn't seem like the type to swallow his pride and work at the gas station... How is this going to play out?

I think he's going to be doing this until he dies, honestly. He's making upwards of $90k/year playing video games on cam, even if this plunges down to half of that, $45k/year, that's still roughly $22/hour. Where in the blue hell is he going to get a job that pays $22/hour? He knows this, and he's gonna stay on YouTube/Twitch forever because every other alternative is more work for less money. And if you don't think people are going to keep throwing money at him, you really don't know Streamer/Internet Entertainer culture very well. Spoony hasn't released jack shit in years, and he's still getting like $500/month on Patreon doing nothing. DSP hasn't done anything real on Patreon recently, and sure it's dipped but fact of the matter is he's still making $725/month on there with minimal effort. Assuming 160 work hours a month, that's the equivalent of $4.50/hour.. for doing nothing!

Ah man I wanna get excited for him playing SF on hard, because the first game is super goddamn hard. Like it'd be a font of salt, but I know he's gonna be a bitch about it. Like only play Super Turbo or abuse save states.

DSP is competent enough to beat the computer on Hard. Don't get your hopes up on it being salty, you'll probably get smugness instead. I don't think we give him enough credit for Street Fighter. His 4th place EVO finish is a joke, but he's absolutely competent in the game. He's probably a Ultra Gold or so level, which is still like top 20%.

This has been bugging me for a while: he does realize that something being reactionary means it is opposed to reform or progress.... right? Is he this self-aware?

Couldn't sleep so I decided to take a look at how many of Phil's videos had over 1 million views, and there are 7. I should note 4 of those are on the Darksydephil channel, 2 are on DspGaming, and 1 on KoGaming. I know he had others like a Street Fighter channel but I didn't go that deep. The vlogging channel wasn't even close, with the highest video having over 600,000 views. 10 years, a "legacy," the most prolific Youtuber ever, 7 videos over a million views. Don't really know what that means, but there is your Phil fact of the day.

phil's ego is so big he has to make an excuse and make up bullshit on EVERYTHING, everytime he doesn't come out smelling like gin and roses there must be some sinister forces or stupid detractors behind it, or people are just dumb and need phil's streetsmart mind and videogame skills to save the day.

His KOGaming is a great case study, he though his entire viewer base from DSPGaming would simply jump over while getting a ton of new viewers.
He have made a name for himself on Youtube, his fans there are not going to swap platform overnight just like that and the people Amazon's version will in main be the same people as on Youtube, they know who he is so he wont get untold thousands of new viewers that have no idea of who he is!

In regard for adrevenue and such, no company is just going to blind throw tons of money on some new Youtube version and ignore what ever might be on it!

I may be wrong here, but isn't Amazon going for episodic content? Something that could be passed off as a TV show per se? AVGN fits because his videos are edited and can be structured into Seasons and Episodes, while Phil puts out unedited Parts 1 through 275.

Mega Man Collection does have save states. Mega Man Collection 2 implements a fuck ton of checkpoints that flash "Saving" everytime you do the smallest thing. The Disney Afternoon Collection has a fucking rewind button.

All of Digital Eclipse's ports are just ROMs pulled off the internet with hack job challenges modes and emulator functionality thrown in.

So you see one group of people giving this guy thousands of dollars every month to play video games and sitting in his streams watching him, and another group constantly insulting him and pointing out what an idiot he is... And you conclude that the group insulting him is the one boosting his ego? I think you're confusing fame with infamy. Besides the real truth is Phil had a massive ego well before the internet discovered him, just look at any of the information we have about his FGC history.

I hate to humblebrag, but this is such a tired asinine line that it deserves a response in kind: I've got an advanced degree and in between working on projects with an international scope, I like to veg out with junk food for the mind. . . and boy is this place full of empty calories. Sorry if you fit into the stereotype that Phil has crafted to dismiss his critics, but some of us can lead productive lives AND take a dump on Burnell during bathroom breaks.

DSP is one of the laziest Youtubers I have ever seen. I don't get why he makes boring unedited part 200+ videos of the same game. Who's going to watch all of that? A normal and decent Youtuber would edit his part 100+ videos into smaller 1, 2, or 3 hour segments that are actually watchable, possibly bringing a full playthrough around to 8 to 15 parts. I can't imagine being a DSP subscriber and seeing his videos spam your subscription video box.

He has said that editing is **EASIER** than just uploading raw video//raw commentary. He just chooses not to do it because of his "morals"

It's "oy vey" and is a yiddish phrase expressing shock or surprise. No idea how he managed to misspell it like that. . .fat fingers I guess. He was just so excited to show that he's down with the Jews these days I guess -

I know,thats why I asked if it meant something else because he spelled it wrong,I would love to see Phil rant about the jews in a pre-stream,since in most cases people that are down on the jewish question use phrases like that.

Actually IME it's not terribly uncommon for non-Jews in the US to use the term "Oy Vey" from time to time in the same sense that Jews use it, though I think it's more common among people who live in areas with a high concentration of Orthodox Jews like NYC. It's not a pervasive thing, but I think many people in urban areas wouldn't bat an eye.
