What happened to Sorbet?

If you absolutely shower it with affection and attention, you’ll probably end up with a perma-kitten that will want to spend as much time as possible with you and happily spend most of its life indoors as a result. If you’re just basically nice to your cat, the relationship is more akin to something like that in Harry Chapin’s Cat’s in the Cradle (har-de-har). The cat will basically become more independent and do its own thing and affection is only for when it’s in the mood and it’s convenient.

  1. Sorbet has been killed by traffic.
  2. Sorbet has found a new home
  3. Sorbet is chilling out in a change of scene and will return to 14 Branchland Court when he’s ready.

I was under the impression the cat was injured or something. If he is perfectly healthy (his eye looks pretty gnarly to be honest) then he should be fine outside. It's not the dead of winter so he's not freezing to death. If he's outside and not crushed by a box of useless shit then he's probably okay.
 
I feel bad for the poor cleaners that the bank that eventually takes over the house hires to clean out the horde.

Chris' house is a pretty disgusting pit, but watch 5 minutes of any episode of Hoarders and it's low/middle of the pack. Plus there's shit you can't put on TV. Think about a hoarder that shoots themselves and finding that 3 weeks later. There are people that clean that shit up and I imagine they could make pretty legit PTSD claim after so many years of that sort of work.

I've raised/fostered... too many cats. Far too many... If a cat survives it's injuries for a year after a traumatic event like getting hit, the issues the cat is going to be dealing with is adapting to whatever disability (if any) they have from the accident. For Sorbet, missing a paw and even a blown out eye... Not a huge deal after a year of survival. They get used to it.

The wheezing/cough is probably unrelated to the accident, he could have been sick in that regard but enough to wander off and die randomly? It's possible but usually he would have been getting (noticeably) progressively worse instead of just... disappearing.

He looked decent in the live stream. Idk. Sorry for the sperg, I rly rly rly like cats.

I mean... The smell will probably start to get pretty bad in another week. Especially with summer and all. We'll probably find out if he's in the house.

If this does turn out to be a reality (that Sorbert died in a quiet cluttered corner of the house); I sincerely hope this is the one thing that CWC has enough sense to keep to himself.

I've got to wonder, if the eye was blown out; why not just have it removed along with the paw that couldn't be mended? Seeing cats with one or both lids forever welded shut due to injury or illnesss breaks my heart, but looking at the pictures of Sorbet, I feel somehow worse seeing that one bulbous, discolored eye - because I wonder if the poor cat is in pain (just because he can't see out of it, doesn't mean it's not affecting him, you know?)

The cat could have been taken to vet and euthanised due to its condition.

Maybe it works like the cartoon dimension. Two things smash into each other and become one. Cat is now transformer. That does explain all the gurgling.

Sucky thing to pop over to the Farms and see :( Poor Sorbet. He was only like what, 2 or 3? I hope he's still alive and will wander on back home soon like nothing happened but, yeah, I'd place my bets on him being gone.

Not sure why "knew he was dying and ran away to die in private" is the first thought coming to most people's minds, though. I mean. He's been hit by a car before, so clearly people in the area aren't exactly careful drivers, and now his eyes are fucked up. Not exactly a recipe for success for Sorbet. If he's dead I'd be surprised if it was from health complications and not fatal injury.
 
Cats don't usually run away from home to die, they find a dark, quiet uninterrupted place like the closest or under a bed that feels separated but safe. If Sorbet didn't escape, god speed if you did, he's probably slinked into some crevice of the hoard to hide in peace. Pretending to have his cat is a major cunt move but Sorbet was fucked from day one.
