When I worked at a vet clinic, we clipped nails for free. That would actually make sense, at least as far as approaching it with her twisted logic. She's read here about how it's easy and free to cheap to have someone else do it. They have Twinkie in the car with them when they're schlepping back and forth to the sisters, so there's really no other excuse not to stop at a vet clinic or groomer along the way and see if they can take care of it.

If Twinkie's nails are so long they're curling, they probably need to either be trimmed every day for a while or have a vet cut them all the way down and cauterize the quick. The quick recedes once the nail is cut, but only a little bit at a time, and if you don't keep cutting the nails it gets longer again. Tbh she has a right to be afraid to cut his nails, at this point her neglect has made it almost a sure thing it'll be traumatizing for him when it finally happens.

She was also much more active back then. Now she can barely walk. That’s why I’m almost certain she’ll keep gaining weight. Looking back at how quickly she gained a ton of weight, she’ll probably balloon to 700-800 lbs within the next 10 years. The bulk of it will come after she becomes bedridden, which is unavoidable. Just how long can a human body support 400 lbs of excess weight? Deadlifting 400 lbs for reps is a solid workout for a fit person. Imagine living with that on your body 24/7.
