Funny thing is, ME3 multiplayer was coded by some indentured servants for $1 and other valuable compensation, and among other flaws, stored all inventory exclusively client-side. So any kid with a user-friendly cheat engine could get stuff Brianna paid $600 for free.

And one of my friends, who is nearly computer illiterate, did.

It just occurred to me. The time when Wu would have been spending 600 bucks on lootboxes for one of EA's shitty tack-on multiplayer games is the same time she would have us believe she was working 18 hour days on Revolution 60 and eating rice and beans because they had no money to spare for anything else.

You've really got to wonder exactly how much of Frank's money she spends every year on games. Every time we get a glimpse behind the curtain, it's always a different game and always an absurd amount of money. Never mind children spending money on F2P games, it's Wu who has the gambling problem.

This bitch has a thread I don't keep up on that I should probably post this in instead of here, but I keep seeing her cow crossover with a few I do track that are Norasphere adjacent and it strikes me that she's desperate for an attention whore fix. I knew a guy who used to hear about celebrity deaths of those who had stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and he would immediately go find their stars to tag the sidewalk with advertising for his indie music he made at the first opportunity whenever another one kicked the bucket. I asked him what was up with this after David Carradine hung himself to death when he told me what he had done on the sidewalk in the immediate wake of hearing the reports on it and he explained his reasoning as, "people would be looking for that star in the wake of that tragic news so by getting his name on there, his fame would increase from the mourners seeking out the star to pay respect to the departed actor/whatever." I expect this kind of attention seeking morbid tackiness from a minstrel hustler selling indie music, from a supposed highly compensated employee of a publicly traded company I expect the corporate masters to tug on the leash of the rouge dog they let out in the neighborhood foaming at the mouth. Hope this bitch can rap when the hammer finally drops on her skull in northern California...

It blows my mind that adults will pay for in-game purchases to win games, let alone many hundreds of dollars worth. I always thought those options were to hoodwink kids into using their parent's credit cards. Ask for forgiveness and not permission. Just another example of Brianna being the child in the relationship and Frank the adult.

I think this also disproves the theory that he abuses her. He was abusive to his ex wife because he was in the closet and felt no control over his life and needed to control hers. Now that he has his sexual kinks figured out and met, he's happy to go along with whatever else Brianna gives him, including mounting debt. The way that Brianna has free reign to spend his money on stupid crap is usually not how abusive relationships go.

Powerlevelling full disclosure: I did buy pokeballs for my niece on my phone once. She missed her parents and it kept her busy and happy and it was cheaper than going to the movies. But more unfortunate parallels: that was to keep a kid happy and quiet. Maybe Frank thinks that $600 of in-game purchases is cheaper than another $400,000 on making a game?

Before I lost the data due to my last computer's motherboard dying, I was keeping up with how much Brianna was spending on video games within a calendar year based on the information we had available. If I remember right, she was on track to spending around $3000 and that was just the stuff we can see on publicly available sources. There's no telling how much she was spending on shitty mobile games where the information is less accessible.

:offtopic: You know what I'd actually like to see, rather than reviews of individual journalists or pieces? A network analysis of journalism websites, that shows how someone like Wu can get "upcycled" from no-name websites to almost-legit media. Identifying the "onramps" for spurious stories to make it into the wild would be useful.
The tricky part would be distinguishing between "onramps" that exist as mouthpieces for individuals, and ones that are doing boots-on-the-ground primary source reporting in line with what used to be known as journalistic standards. My theory is that artificial stories get "laundered" more times before making it to major outlets, and their chain of attributions will tend to go only one link back at a time, rather than directly to the primary source.
Actually, I wonder if existing algorithms for detecting money laundering could be adapted to detect information laundering.
