Closing Logos Group / CLG Wiki - Spooky scary TV logos! (NIGHTMARE FACTOR)

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
I found THIS ridiculous Animated Atrocity recently.
Guess what the animation in question is?

Seriously, the closing logos community has stooped to a new low. Not only is it stupid to make an atrocity out of something that's an ident, but this logo isn't even scary!

The Entersphere spergs crossed over with CLG shit?
@Jaimas, does this count as a shot?

Getting desperate I guess.

I came to this thread to post something I stumbled upon a few weeks ago relating to this topic.
Meet TheOKWhatTimeIsIt, a YouTuber obsessed with little kids' shows from the 1990's, Chuck E. Cheese, Mickey Mouse and stuff in the same category as what the CLG group obsesses (company logos, end credits and commercials). He also has a subaccount, ohtaywhattimeisit, which he uses more often. I'd like to share with you some of the things he does.
Yes, you're watching a video in which Barney, Sesame Street and Disney characters curse multiple times!

"A Bob The Builder VHS promo using audio from a Blue's Clues promo."
"A Blue's Clues VHS promo played over audio from a Mickey Mouse VHS."
I never could fucking understand what importance these sorts of videos could have. I'm one of those people interested in media archival (which includes commercials) and these fake commercials just waste time and get in the way. Other similar things are fake station IDs, fake signoffs, fake schedules... What is the pleasure derived from splicing these meaningless things together and pretending they're real?

I wish I knew, though I suppose they get a high over faking such things to start with. I will say watching something recorded over 40 years that was saved all this time is a pleasure all itself as long as you can play it back and get it digitized somewhat. There's quite a few people like that on YouTube, like this guy who uploaded a ton of LA-originated broadcasts taken from old EIAJ reel-to-reel videotapes, all from the early 70's.

There was a channel a few years back that did the same thing called BRANDASHQ5. The channel's long gone, but it was a man in his 30's who gave an excuse along the lines of "I'm autistic and my mom says I can do this channel any way I want", while being no point in these videos, I guess it's not untrue that you can post whatever. A lot of people seem to have disliked him as well, and I can see why, as I can feel the :autism: seeping through while clicking on these videos to find to post here.

While looking at these videos, I also seem to have found his new account (if not an archive):

:autism: Granted, I can’t really make fun of these people shitting themselves over closing logos considering I’m still creeped out by that Max Headroom thing but still, I’m more creeped out about the audio, and it actually was pretty fucking creepy for that shit to just randomly pop up during Doctor Who. :autism:

I don’t know what’s worse, the mention of Five Nights at Freddy’s reference, the unironic MLP font or being scared of three singing colorful heads.

This thread reminded me of this wiki, which is just people making schedules for Cartoon Network? I coulda swore I had hallucinated it. For some reason it's connected with some of the more "official" Cartoon Network wikis, like Courage and Weasel.

Unrelated, but so many of these wikis look just plain depressing. They need a facelift.

They don't have Ed, Edd, and Eddy on that schedule. Wack. Also that's very depressing that there's a wikis for Cartoon Network fantasy schedules. I guess people miss the old days of CN despite the new stuff thrown in the mix.

I saw those videos when I was younger and was even confused about them at that age. For example, why are you mixing up Nick Jr. shows with The Simpsons? And why did you just use audio about warfare on a so-called TV promo?

Everything, maybe. That was a logo made for a kids' channel, for crying out loud!

That almost looked real for a second, until I saw that they put Hole In The Wall on the schedule long after it got cancelled and they put on Goosebumps. I checked out the other pages, though, and some schedules include a fake show called "The Awesome Chronicles of Manny and Khan", which appears to be based on a rejected CN pilot (This reminds me of the people on another crappy wikia, Scratchpad Wikia, putting a show called called Hoop-A-Joop on every single schedule of theirs).

There's a pretty big difference between being afraid of a giant letter "V" drawn in Scanimate and a signal hijacking that replaces a few seconds of your favorite show with a low resolution clip of a guy in a weird mask trying to talk but the audio quality is so poor it just sounds like television static. The Max Headroom incident is objectively terrifying, no autism required.
