"Surely, Super Collie," you may say, "can someone really be afraid of a television logo?"

To be fair this did scare me as a kid.

It's that fucking chord at the beginning that used to scare me. Looking back on it now, I laugh.

Anyway I heard about these guys on the Lost Media Wiki and thought "You know, why would anyone spend time looking for old idents and logos?". I can understand looking for lost TV shows and movies (especially if people want to preserve them for future generations) but logos are kind of a pointless thing to hunt for and save.

We all go through that phase in our childhoods when something like this happens.

It is pointless. I would be more for recordings of TV as it was 30-40 years ago myself than simply logos.

I communicate with Rick Goldschmidt (official Historian for the Rankin/Bass archives) and mentioned about the R/B bumpers being posted on Youtube by some guy. He didn't get into specifics, but he said I should steer clear of this guy because he's highly nuts. I never could figure out how anyone could be mental over some closing bumpers, but this thread explained everything.

People just are, I'm sure those like Rick wished it never happened.

Has he done one on the 1984 DiC logo?

Hey, 1984 DiC logo. I see you at the end of Pole Position and Heathcliff and the Catillac Cats. You're great. Keep up the good work!

What do you mean you're about to be retired? And you're going to be replaced by a logo sequence featuring a live-action shot of a kid in his bedroom? You have got to be s**ting me!
