I believe fgc vets like maximilliondood have confirmed that the games are at a speed faster than the originals. However most will adapt and still play well while Phil will just use it as another excuse.
I don't personally believe in paying 50 bucks for this mess anyways. Most of the games are irrevilant. No cares about SF1 and most of the versions of SF2 have aged terribly. You can get the alpha anthology for ps2 off of amazon for $20 new still(includes A2 Gold, A3 upper and pocket fighter). The online edition of 3rd strike has all sorts of modes and options. NG and DI serve no purpose other then just to see how weak the roster was leading up to 3rd Strike and even then the roster is pretty shitty. SSF2 HD remix, despite the shitty anime graphics, is a solid version of Turbo that Phil so desperately wants. They patched USF4 on ps4 so it runs better and it's dirt cheap on all systems anyways.
I understand that it's nice to have all the games under one umbrella but this was obviously thrown together half-assedly by a company that no longer cares about it's fans. The online was a big factor for people too and they still couldn't get it right.
All I am saying is that this collection wasn't developed in house, it was contracted out.
That being said, not only is the speed fucked up, but so is the training mode. I can't say I am surprised. Those little challenge modes in the first Mega Man Collection were pretty bad. You could skip the Bubbleman and Heatman fights by jumping against the door you spawned in from. People should have seen this coming.
