Maybe. To look at it in a non-shitty light, it's either a case of Bob recognizing that his dad was old for his peer group [maybe he was a couple years older than the usual funerals he's aware of], Bob pointing out his dad was losing his mind due to whatever killed him but it took a long time to reach that point, or Bob pointing out that his dad stayed a long time in bed due to treatment and what not, TotalBiscuit-style.

Or maybe he did just say his dad took way too long to die.

It's one of those things that hit you when a relative has a mental disease. After awhile you realize that whoever they were is gone now and you're stuck with a faint echo of who they were.

They say fiction reflects the society and people have commented on the rash of zombie stories right now. Some part of me wonders if it's related to baby boomers getting old and healthcare reaching the point where mind diseases are hitting the elderly more than body ones (or we can fix body problems better nowadays). Add in the strain social systems are going to be hit with and the parables start to become obvious.

They arrogantly thought they would bow down, and accept the unjustified comments against them despite having done nothing to them. These narcissistic fuckheads actually thought they wouldn't able to bite back, and be allowed to be demonized without any retaliation. Ah, Bob. How the mighty have fallen, indeed. I checked out some of his stuff back when he was on the Escapist, and while he wasn't as amusing to me as Yahtzee, he had some decent vids (I enjoyed his review of Future Cops, and he had a good rundown on how Scott Pilgrim killed an adaptation of At The Mountains Of Madness).

Then he went insane and decided screeching about GG was the best way to get poon, I guess. Damned if I know. He'd run a vid about why being an obnoxious little shit in the fighting game circuit was not okay; fair enough. But this was completely beyond the pale. I was GLAD when he left (or was kicked off) the Escapist.

Poor stupid bastard. You should've stayed in bed that morning.

That's actually an incredibly interesting idea for a fighter pilot movie. If they actually handle this discussion in a smart and honest way, this new Top Gun film might turn out to be more than a quick nostalgia cash grab.

But of course to Bob, any debate about the overuse of technology is dumb. Any meaningful concern or criticism about the overuse of drone technology in the military is nothing more than fearful ghoul gibberish.

I agree with blob on this one, any system that would give him and his contemperaries more power would be horrifying. Also, you gotta love the way these people hate on sanders, because the true mark of Hillary being the best candidate is her opponent in the primary supposedly costing her the election, along with Russia. Truly the mark of greatness is crumbling when given opposition. Maybe that’s why Bob likes her so much, they both get crushed in real competition.
