Valve to Open Up the Steam Store

Just wait until a game called "Kill all Niggers" or "Lynch the Fags" comes out, they might reconsider this. In fact, I hope these games are for some reason actually well made and enjoyable so that it finds an audience and the homepage is now polluted with people hanging from ropes and big nazi flags. I'm fucking dying just imagining the spectacle in my head.

Wouldn't be worth it, the negative press would be bad, the ability to get good people for the programming team would be jeopardized and the commercial viability would make it so that if you wanted use that game as a springboard in the industry you'd be screwed, even if it was top grade AA stuff.

The best you'll see is pixel art columbine shooters.

Even though this whole implosion started over anime titties. For once it didn't even concern SJWs or social/gender politics. It was 100% about censorship. One could argue the Left/Right ideologues united in their disdain for NCOSE, and everyone raised enough fuss to get Valve out of their hot tub or sunroom or whatever.

Now that it's over the SJWs have retconned the situation to make it all about them versus imaginary Nazi troll games.

I don't think it's quite what they say it is. The Californian games media is basically incestuous, they have to tow the line when it comes to the game publishers and developers they are connected to. I mean these people sit around and watch nude rape scenes in Game of Thrones. They don't really give a fuck unless they see stuff from the people who are on the "wrong side of history".

When it comes to stuff outside their bubble, they are free to demonize it or pressure it to change however they wish, because they have no fear of career reprisal. It's less about censorship in itself it seems. And more about exerting authority and control on other developers outside their sphere. And it works.

On one hand, Steam will probably be flooded with dogshit the likes of which we've never seen. On the other hand, Steam was already filled with dogshit and Valve rarely did anything (and when they did they'd get a mountain of hate).

Valve isn't taking a bold stand for indie developers or giving the finger to SJWs and game journalists, but rather throwing their hands up in the air and saying "fuck it."

it won't because there's no money in it; every Steam user in 2018 knows if you download some piece of shit or even a really slick AAA game that you simply dont like, you press the refund button and poof your money's back

the shovelware industry is focused on mobile since google and apple dont give refunds

Holy shit. That's the kind of nonsense I might have joked about a decade ago.

That's the end of DoA, then. Even Itagaki with his "I think of the characters as my daughters" shit wouldn't have turned into a moralistic faggot about fighting game tiddies.

I'm as firm a supporter of DoA's cheesecake factor as anyone, but considering the actual plot of DoA5 was thin as shit and the gameplay got kinda shallow after a point (they really phoned in the balance of the characters after a point, the guest characters and DLC especially) and how they turned into a fanservice money pit, I will, TO SOME EXTENT (emphasis intentional) sacrifice a little cheesecake if DoA 6 has a better plot and gameplay.

And I do not say this lightly. DoA5 got boring as a fighting game and eventually became a modder playground for cheesecake while the actual gameplay aspect was left to rot. Even some of the later fanservice DLC were recognized by modders as rewarmed over modding assets.

As for the gameplay, outside of the core cast, the balance turned to shit. Some examples:

Rachael: Slow, limited moveset, crap combo potential, felt phoned in given her origin game.

Mai: Decent character, but her balance was wonky because she was a 3D translation of a 2D game character with little to no changes for the change in format.

Naotora: She plays so differently from her source game it's like she's a different character, and her moveset felt generic.

Some of the Virtua Fighter cast members, while generally balanced, most had stiffer movements than the DoA cast because, again, they were ported fairly directly from their source, meaning far more agile characters could run rings around them.

I could go on, but DoA 5 was, and I will admit this, a fanservice fest, and if they still keep a fair amount of it while making a better game of DoA 6, then I'd call that a fair trade-off, so long as they don't completely throw the cheesecake overboard.

thing is though, the developer didnt say "we're going to address gameplay issues", they said "we're going to dial back on the tiddies", so you shouldn't expect anything but that - after all that's super easy to "fix" and gets you lots of woke points in the games press as well

Rip DoA.

This is why you gotta fight the sjw. If you don't all you love will be taken away.

I disagree. It is ideological. However, it's ideological in a half ass way to virtue signal. They've convinced themselves that they care about causes but they really don't.

Least SoulCalibur 6 looks like it might still have some decent tit factor.
