She's only doing it because she wants validation from her audience, something she was never able to get from people in other parts of her life. I think she would find what she's looking for and be much happier if she was in the fat acceptance movement or even participated in feederism like hungryfatchick. I see her being very successful as a fat activist and getting an even bigger audience. Oh I’m not saying she’s racist at all, I know she isn’t Quebecois. I’m responding to the sentiment that all of Canada outside of Toronto is racist. Thats untrue, but Quebec is definitely the most racist region in the country. Chantal is from Cornwall.

I think for many fat people, merely letting others know that they *want* to lose weight is kind of like a cop-out. Yeah, they're fat but they want to lose the weight, so it's okay somehow. Kind of like how they also tell other people what diet they are going to go on, for how many days, macronutrient ratios they're going to follow and exercise regimes they've got planned to "get this weight off!" when in reality they don't do anything because they were somewhat fulfilled since they think all the people they told their plans to now view them as more health conscious or even athletic.
I don't know specifically what this effect is called but it's a well-known psychological thing that seems extremely prevalent in rotund youtubers.
