I am Gentleburd! Me and my ladyperch had to leave my brigand family behind when they became too edgy and started killing people instead of just stealing from them.
We don’t kill people! We are sustainable burglers that participate in rob-and-release!

So now we are here to kill evil monsters. If ladyperch doesn’t go crazy and die on me, that is.

I'd like to get in on this. Make me a Hellion. Who needs defense when you have ridiculous offense?

On it.

I love the implication that the bird is the character and not the Falconer herself.

Recently added: @Wallace as a Man-at-Arms. Cash has been in critically short supply because I've been dealing with that early problem where every fucking bit of trait lock-in is too expensive to make a habit of and there just hasn't been any secret rooms found.

What the fuck is this shit??? I leave the estate for a few weeks to do an episode of Gumball and you assholes start a new cycle of death and despair?

Put me back in, boss, you all need some LESSONS.

Pick your class, kiddo.

Add me in, don't care what. And consider adding in some of the Exaelus class mods, especially the Seer.

I feel fighting all these weird elder gods and space monsters it was only inevitable that it would break anyway.

So... Here's the skinny.

We were making pretty good headway when a client error deleted all my saves. "No problem," I thought to myself: "I have backups, I'll just restore from those." So I did.

Something broke.

We had all our stuff, we had all our items, and everyone was as they were - except it was now Week 2.

LDfIGGO.jpg

Grabbing @Bob's Axe, @Rumpled Foreskin, @Gentleburd, and @c-no, we began to hammer away through the long trudge to get back where we were.

ogYiLez.jpg

Getting the districts unlocked, they were exactly the way they were before time decided to fuck itself inside out.

And then, mysteriously as it started, we were back at week 49 with no explanation as to what the fuck had just transpired.

XCRuWhq.jpg

And then @Toxinophile, @CrunkLord420, @AnOminous, and @Meowthkip killed the Brigand 12-Pounder.

So it's been a while. We've made some headway and new discoveries, but one of the biggest now has emerged:

It's now entirely possible to beat the final boss without losing anyone and not using some bullshit like damage stacking. All you need to do is go into the final mission with just two people. For the first time, a legit no death run for the (the) Kiwi Farms is now a possibility.

But that's a long way off and Color of Madness is coming in like a week and a half, so let's get right into things.

Our team is actively pursuing the Baron, and @Ruin, @Jaimas, @Bones, and the impressively buxom @Sable are clearing the way.

I know I've brought it up before, but Thrall is a fucking beast. It has easily one of the highest damage outputs in the game and its ability to bring the pain is impressive since it also reliably does bleed. Its main issue is that it's relatively inaccurate, but a few trinkets can help solve that problem. Seeing Bones here punch a relatively high-level enemy into paste in one strike is far from unheard of.

The Omen Seeker really comes into her own when it comes to debuffing and party support. In addition to a natural bonus against Bloodsuckers with her whip (because Castlevania reference), she has some outstanding stun, bleed, and even damage powers. Her strongest ability is Holy Water - this ability will clear blight and bleed procs from an enemy, but it is armor-piercing, will always do significantly more damage if the target is blighted, and always critically hit if the target is bleeding. If set up alongside @Existential Crisis or @Ruin, she's an outstanding heavy hitter which is weird because she really isn't on her own. Also I find it hilarious that despite the fact that her character model is ludicrously busty (and has jiggle physics), she not only fits the theme, but her background actually makes sense within the context of Darkest Dungeon. Sort of impressive, and @Sable has become one of my favorite additions to this party as a result.

The Dragonslayer Knight is.... Strange. It's a very mobile fighter, constantly shuffling position, and with extremely high dodge comparative to a character of his type, but he has some drawbacks to compensate. It has a very high damage frontline stab that also can stun, but it also nails him with a massive debuff that takes away his formidable agility for a bit. He's got things like a Riposte (seen here) and armor piercing lightning attacks, but he's also curiously fragile for a character of this type (roughly on par with the Highwayman), and his damage output isn't quite as impressive as others. Still, I love this dude and I'm glad to use him for all further runs. I'll bite the Ornstein bullet, faggots, fite me.

@Ruin, of course, is the single best healer we have. No joke. She isn't quite as strong as a maxed-out Vestal or Occultist, but she can cure blights and bleeds while doing it, heal a substantial amount of stress, and cure Horror for good measure. While she has no damage output whatsoever in her human form, her monstrous form will tear opponents limb from limb with vicious claws and blight.

As the Crocodilian recently learned when we kicked his ass. Nom.

20bkbQ7.jpg

Unfortunately, when we got back, this fucking happened. Unlike last time, I was nowhere near ready for this asshole this time, with my finances in the toilet and a limited arsenal of troops I could bring along.

Shit was about to get real.

VzBMXc8.jpg

Veterans of the last time this shitstain visited will remember that he got his ass glazed by a team that was fully prepared for him, and tore him in half in like five rounds. This time, he faces a team that's anything but prepared, but is still eminently ready to beat his ass till he bleeds purple.

QbpqzES.jpg

The team today consists of @Gentleburd (and Ladyperch), @Existential Crisis, @Rumpled Foreskin, and @Bob's Axe. A team that by all accounts really shouldn't work, but since we lack options, they're who get the call.

wmMlCJl.jpg

There's no fucking around this time: I could barely afford fucking food and torches, let alone actual lifesaving supplies, so bringing this asshole down quick is a necessity. Foreskin gets right to work applying as much bleed as possible, backed up by Crisis. The objective is simple: Get to 14 or so bleed damage a turn so this asshole takes himself down in like 8 rounds.

One advantage I had is that this time, I did several of the Shieldbearer quests, so I had some Serpent Scales. I brought them with me, and decided to test what would happen if I used one against Vvulf's bombs.

VMmjVvX.jpg

Answer: Makes his ass a joke. Shieldbearer would actually break this fight entirely. Glorious.

Very quickly, he gets Omniwave to 100 Stress.

K4DpgNK.jpg

That's a mistake he never gets to repeat.

bqLLyGd.jpg

Bleed and Gentleburd peppering his ass with arrows while Omniwave causes (and then clears) marks ultimately deals the damage necessary, and the big bad Vvulf is no more.

CzZFddn.jpg

Crisis bleeds out his associate.

witQB3b.jpg

And Omniwave finishes the battle.

Back at town, the team sleeps off catching all manner of illness from this battle somehow.

Surely by now the brigands should realise that anyone still alive on the Kiwi Farms Estate are too badass to be destroyed by this.

It's like they never learn and now they're all corpses.

Whoo! Go Ladyperch! You keep doin all the work shooting arrows and I’ll just sit here and look pretty.

And go Omniwave! Most people collapse under stress, but not you. You get tunnel vision and kill even harder!

Actually, in many ways, Gentleburd was the star of the battle, despite most of his abilities being support.

On the way to the boss, he kept stress down with his Fierce Cry ability, which gives a party-wide moderate stress heal and gives a speed buff to boot.

He then used Eyethief to cripple enemy gunners, which further kept damage to a minimum and marked them for later beatdowns from Omniwave and Ladyperch.

The team wouldn't have taken Vvulf down without him, because they'd never have gotten there.
