Since it relates to Disney and I've already mentioned the issue with Star Wars being call "The Skywalker Saga", I wouldn't find them still calling them "Indiana Jones" that unprobable. Marvel Comics didn't even bother rebranding the names of series that got the later batch of diversity replacements. When Riri Williams replaced Tony Stark, the book was still "Invincible Iron Man" despite Riri using the name "Ironheart" which is funny as now that Stark's back, the book is "Tony Stark: Iron Man" to assure people that Iron Man actually has Iron Man in it this time.I'm going to go ahead and confess that Temple of Doom was my favourite Indy movie. The action was wild (mine-cart chase), the performances were great (especially Mola Ram: "Drop them, Dr. Jones. They will be found, you won't! (Laughs) GET NOOOOOOW!!!), and whilst it involved even less actual archaeology than the first it wasn't any less fun.
Like Crystal Skull, things can only go down from here. I heard they planned to replace Indy with a legacy woman/daughter which already sounds stupid since the fucking franchise is named after him.
The usual justification for it is the same "Nobody will care unless we use big brands and the inbuilt audience/legacy" that they use for the replacements themselves. This raises questions about anti-audience views but they'd openly admit that making an original movie IP will flop so it's better to leech and hope the giant "STAR WARS" gives them some money.
