It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

Fuck off. You suddenly care about immgration rights when Obama did the same thing Trump is doing for years but y'all didn't do shit. The same with worker's rights, when Obama was pushing jobs overseas to cheap labor or people hiring cheap labor at home. You don't give a fuck. You just wanna put one over on trump.
It's the "It's okay when we do it" mentality in full play here. They want to be the ones to hire cheap overseas labor, not the Republicans.

You can't, just fucking straight up can not be the political party screaming about "muh fundamental values" when you are the party that pushed/pushes for things like gay marriage and troons using female bathrooms. Seriously, can the DNC kindly stop pretending like they give a fuck about "fundamental values".

Yeah, ok. When the Dems stop equating 'fundamental values' with screeching about immigrants, men in dresses and Muslim's rights, maybe they'll have a point. Why would the average American have any support for the Dems if that's their platform? There's very little here for regular working families and individuals that make up the majority of the country.

Still, at least you fuckers have an alternative to the Dems' platform (unlike the UK).

Oh America. We're shaking our collective heads over here.

The Fourth of July is a pretty significant national holiday. It is, after all, the day we celebrate the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of IndepenDENCE.

Note the bold and capitalized text. It is by design.

Because Twitter is apparently paying homage to a day set aside for ... dancing???

Independance Day — not Independence Day — was a popular trend on Twitter on Wednesday morning.

Even the U.S. Air Force, the city of Boston and the New Jersey government used the incorrect spelling in their hashtags.

They weren't the only ones. It even got first lady Melania Trump, who originally tweeted "Happy #IndependanceDay May God bless this great nation & all the people who protect it!"

Eight minutes later, the tweet was removed and replaced with #independenceday, spelled properly.

Luckily, grammar sticklers have pointed out the mistake on many posts using the incorrect spelling.

But still, the misspelling was everywhere — even on posts that are otherwise thoughtful and serious.

Oh no, a typo! Shock! Horror!

Oh wait a minute this isn't fucking news.

Slow news day. The heatwave is making people too boring to do anything interesting.

Now I'll admit I dislike the way certain things are spelled. And spellings do change over time. However, no one can spell these days thanks to the internet being full of stupid people who can't type and don't care how badly they are spelling because "lol teh internet isnt a spelign test".

I hope this doesn't lead to a bunch of permanently changed spellings because everyone is too dumb and lazy to get them right.

Whelp, I guess all this freedom isn't worth making spelling mistakes.

Please take us back, England!!!!!

Yes please. I want to spell color and diarrhea wrong.
