What
@sweaty chafing thighs said is true. Assuming Amber ever had insurance, once she lost the weight and went to doctors often enough to get documentation that the excess skin was causing a medical issue, insurance would pay for it.
1. She’d likely need a couple of infections, or at least a skin condition that requires prescriptions and a doctor savvy enough to write it up. Discomfort isn’t enough. Insurance doesn’t care about your discomfort, just the cheapest way to handle your health.
2. She’d need insurance, which she doesn’t have.
Gastric bypass costs about 25k. Plus the skin removals will double it. You can get Care Credit-well, normal people can. But if she actually did lose the weight and stick to a diet online, maybe a gofundme would offset some of the costs of skin removal. People admire people who do something hard.
Nobody who has ever lost that much weight, that I’ve heard about anyway, regretted it. They aren’t the cute little size 2 that they imagined, but they have freedom that they didn’t have before. They can wipe their own butts, spend a day at Disneyland, and aren’t breathing heavy at every step. And the hold food has on them is broken, which makes it worthwhile for them. There are a million other things that we don’t even know about that are gone and make their life better.
So nobody should ever give up and believe a TV show will solve their problems. But this is Amber, dummy extraordinaire. Of course she thinks TV Magic is real and in two hours, her problems will be gone. And she doesn’t care about rape allegations and neither will the show. Lots of the people on have done way worse!
