Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

"Bernie does not own the idea that the central problem in America is money in our political system. He also doesn't the idea that our system works for the rich and not for us." - Wu

Yeah, well at least he didn't accidentally the sentence, which is something John does in almost everything he posts.

With all of John's babble about his 30 documentaries, etc., it occurred to me to check if he had an IMDB entry. And he does, oh joy:

- 7 credits, including 2 for Revolution 60. The others seem to be just for incidental appearances on news items.

- Under the 'Bio' section we learn, "Trademark: Long, lean legs"; and "Trivia: Wu attempted to graduate college on three separate occasions."

ROFL.

Edit to add: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5950843/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm

Oh yeah those dumb fucking centrists and their reality-denying desires for reconciliation and shit. Anyway John what's your gender?

Yeah. I don't believe I have ever heard the term "reactionary middle" before. Way to go John.

John is right though, one side IS rotten. The rotten side of the argument right now is easily what is often called the far or "progressive" left.

I'm a godless liberal in a big coastal city who has generally always voted Democrat and the only politicians I have ever donated to have been Democrats. I'm pretty far from what most people would call right-wing. I'm what Democrats generally used to refer to as their "base". But I am to the point where I actually enjoy watching the DNC get fucked by Trump. If the DNC want's to lose the house and see another term of Trump, they should simply stay-the-course because that is what's going to happen. And you know what? Be my guest. Moderates and "center" types realize that they have a better chance of softening the Republican party -- which is realistically what Trump has done -- than they do bringing their own party back to what would be considered reasonable or sane. Fuck 'em.

And the cab driver said "well, you should certainly brush them at some point."
Then everyone we were driving past stood up and applauded. That cabby's name? Albert Einstein.

I love comparing Wu's "I'm working 18 hours a day every day!" with Warren's picture of a lazy control freak who expects others to do absurd things but won't herself even answer an email. The only thing she can ever think of that she's supposedly busy doing is "meetings."

We know Wu spent this weekend fucking with her car and playing Pokemon Go. She's not busy in the slightest.

Edit: Actually, the cabby said "Really? Why start now?"

"Meetings" are the sort of excuse people who haven't worked a real job would repeatedly use when they don't have an excuse for being lazy. But it's also about the only work activity that's even slightly enticing to Brianna so I guess that's how it became his fallback.

John seems to have no clue whatsoever how much it would cost to "expand rail service through the rest of the US", nor why passenger rail died out in the first place -- other than commuter rail in high density areas.

I guess in his world, the magical force of government + unlimited funds would result in this happening, and customers would immediately embrace it, despite all historical evidence to the contrary.

I'm pretty sure the sum total of his knowledge of rail is what he learned from listening to Judy Garland sing 'On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe'.

The mainstream reporters who have covered John so far are either profoundly biased or grossly incompetent. Both ain't out of the question.

This is a 41-year-old candidate whose life before Gamergate is a complete blank. The reporters apparently never ask about his education, his work history or his current employer. They never check to discover that his game company is a vanity project that lost hundreds of thousands of dollars. They never report that he's from Mississippi. There's never a word about his wealthy and privileged background.

All of this is Reporting 101 and is information that would be included in your basic voters guide published by the League of Women Voters. (If the League does a primary guide for the 8th Massachusetts, the entry for John will read "Did not reply.")

These reporters should be fired. But they won't be.

Fortunately, I suspect that U.S. Rep. Stephen Lynch, D-Mass., has or soon will launch a whisper campaign to ensure that the fine folks of his district know a lot more about John Walker Flynt than they will ever learn by reading the laughably unprofessional reporting of The Boston Globe.
It's always about the safest way to get the most clicks. Of all the ways to frame Wu the "woman" overcoming diversity would be a safe bet. If the writer did look into Wu's past it would quickly become apparent that asking about it would mean questioning a woman and/or precised as an attack. Given how well questioning a woman has worked for others in the #MeToo generation most writers would then actively avoid going near those kinds of questions. Some writers might have done their homework and avoided Wu's past out of self preservation. Maybe Wu could have a set of taboo topics when being interviewed? It could be as simple as only talking about Wu's life after Wu decided to get into politics (from Gamer Gate onward). The former is more likely then the latter.

Oh dear, blown the fuck out on the Twatter again just hours after posting that the network is a great tool for empathy.

"I don't follow anyone's ideology" yeah okay, I suppose it must be coincidence that the only thing you is regurgitate the most mainstream points of view all day long like the fucking network news junkie you are.

Didn't realize Who is America was a hard hitting piece of journalism. Thought that the goal was to find exceptional individuals and show them off in the most entertaining way possible. Maybe Wu doesn't like the show because he realized had Sacha done an interview with him it would definitely have been included in an episode.
Wu claims to march to a solo beat yet likes using the word "we" when talking about the progressive ideology.

Well done John, you certainly demonstrated your electoral viability by acting like an absolute twat to someone bringing up mild criticism supported by data. What a fucking pro.

Even more terrible for anyone sitting next to you who is at constant risk of iPad-related physical harm (to say nothing of the smell of necrotising crotch flesh).

It's kind of a slow Wu day so I figured I share some (hopefully) mildly entertaining thoughts on rail travel in the US based on John's appraisal of the situation.

The Acela between NYC and Boston is actually great. It's a like 4 hr ride, but door-to-door it often beats flying when you factor in all the hassle of air travel. They have a first class section which is only a few bucks more than a normal ticket and the experience is pretty white glove with chef prepared meals and the whole deal. NYC to Boston are close, and it's just under a 4 hour drive so overall it's about the same as driving.

John doesn't seem to be aware, but you can actually take Amtrak almost anywhere in the US, should you care to. Want to go from Boston to say Detroit, Palm Springs or San Francisco? Yep, you could do it. It will take you literal days to get there but they do offer the service. Now, that's not days in the First Class car on the Acela mind you, but rather 3 days on a dingy, mid-80's looking train with microwave hot dogs as your primary meal. Just imagine the bathrooms by day 2 of your journey. Anyway, back in the day, I foolishly decided to take an Amtrak from Cleveland to NYC because I thought it would be cool. The climax of the 14 hour journey was when some lady got so fucked up on Heineken that she flew into a jealous rage when a male passenger, after talking to her for a bit, decided to talk to another woman. They had to stop the train, let the police on who came in and actually wrestled her off the train. That caused us to miss the connection in Philly delaying the journey. Anyway, that's rail travel in the US.

Did John reveal why he is going to be in NYC?

Took a little pit stop at peep show enthusiast @RepStephenLynch's Twatter for a brief moment just now and whodathunkit - is this news of a local gun-related tragedy that John failed to exploit for his own gain? Hurry John, the bodies might still have a little bit of warmth left in them if you want to turn them into soapboxes to stand on!

Also, just in case you're wondering precisely how big a piece of shit Adam Salsman is:

Vincent Adultman has been to more meetings.

I once took the train from San Francisco to LA. The train itself was a wonderful old bit of rolling stock. A sleek silver double decker affair that I can only think dated back to the 70s. It was superbly comfortable and there were only like 5 or 6 people in the whole carriage. I got to wallow in my vast, over upholstered seat and listen to two tubby black women talk earnestly about their faith in Jesus the whole way, which I thought was marvellous.

It would have been the best way to travel ever except apparently at some time in the 20th century most of California's railway tracks must have been ripped up, and half the journey had to be taken in a stinking overcrowded bus.

I can't help but think rail travel in the US in its prime must have been a sublime affair. It's only decades of zero investment that's made it garbage.

If you don’t have to reschedule missed flights and show up more than 15 minutes prior to departure, security generally isn’t too mush of a hassle.

Come for the hard-hitting political commentary, stay for the trendy pop culture analysis.

How old is Wu supposed to be, again, and they're still trying to stay hip with the kids by trying to give their so quirky assessment of emojis?
