"Opening a case against me won't make the process any faster! Oh, btw, I had to rush the medals for those two people who opened a case against me."

The only thing I disagree about in this latest post is that opening the cases ultimately didn't help, because obviously the only reason he's even at this point is because he didn't even have them made within the time periods he promised both in the ebay listing AND later when people started asking about them. This shows two things:

1. Chris is in fact willing to work hard if he absolutely sees no alternative to solving a problem and/or getting what he wants. Granted, making little stupid medalions of his rip-off sonic recolor while he sits on his ass - something a five-year old can do - is hardly work, but given his usual behavior AND how he got so "in the zone" that even mowing the lawn wasn't worth bitching about as a herculean effort that was delaying more medallion manufacturing, it's real progress for a change.

2. Chris bitching about being stressed and not being able to make medallions as a result is disproven, as he is arguably under the most stress he's been subjected to in a long time (which is the threat of paypal suspension and the loss of his eBay monetary fund crutch) and yet he's made more of them in a day than he has in over two weeks when he wasn't nearly as stressed as he is now. More likely, he just didn't make them because he was such a lazy bum that kept putting it off due to a complete loss of his tracking of time and somebody had to go buy a new car and play with those toys...

Wait a sec.

Rereading the post...he mentions "heavy lifting" with regards to making access to some railing for a "construction crew"

The only thing that could possibly refer to, AFAIK, is 14BC. Maybe Casa de Chandler will rise again?

EDIT: Ignore this post, I wasn't aware this information had been known beforehand via the previous night's chat, so it was news to me that 14BC suddenly had work being done.

Skyraider verified in chat the other night that it's being repaired JUST enough for them to move in and it'll be shady as hell in regards of the quality of the repairs. Barb is apparently paying for it. They plan to move back within a few months. So yeah, Chris gets to move back into a partially repaired childhood home he saw burst into flames almost a year ago. I guess they won't have to pay for hoard storage anymore. They can move that half-burnt couch right back in :/

The overall attitude toward Chris is always antagonistic in Discussion.

Whatever he does in life, people will not be satisfied with it because it's easier to say 'lol retarded fatty blah blah blah' than to actually acknowledge any progress. It's not about patting him on the head. It's about not shitting on the guy for whatever he's doing when it involves effort.

That kind of thinking (not yours, the thinking you're describing) is what prevents people like Chris from actually making any progress, and ironically the people who refuse to acknowledge progress are also like "Get a real job, Chris, then we'll talk"...

Chris's nonchalance about mowing the lawn is puzzling, particularly in the context of a post like this.

I wouldn't be surprised if a trailer was out on the lawn after the first (and possibly final) repairs are finished.

I seem to have become Chris biggest defender. But there is a misunderstanding that seems to be fairly frequent here. What he actually said was

Also, please allow up to two weeks for creation of each medallion, and should any delays come up, I will inform you via eBay Private Message Individually, or make a public post on my Facebook page.

So he did not promise 2 weeks. He estimate 2 weeks, acknowledged the possibility of delays, and promised to keep people notified. He may be a couple days beyond 2 weeks with some medallions, but he has kept people very informed about the process, in way too much detail. I think it is difficult to read that and conclude he hasn't lived up to what he "promised".

The other point, that he put off a bunch of work for a week and a half, and then couldn't crunch it it in, I think is quite valid. I also think it is fair to criticize the initial posting as allowing him to be lazy about it. But I don't think he has violated the initial "contract"

It would be great if he learned from this that you can't just put off work until you feel "inspired".

Chris made the mistake of setting two different "due dates" for the medallions; the one he put in the text of the listing, which is admittedly pretty flexible, and the one he filled in on the seller's panel, which is more specific. Because he filled in an earlier date on the seller panel, the non-PumpkinSwirl buyer's communication with him was automatically filed as a dispute, since the system registered the set shipping date as already passed.

He also didn't communicate via eBay with all the buyers until PumpkinSwirl and the other buyer had contacted him; he had just made a general announcement on Facebook.

I think it has to do with perspective. Chris has bigger things to stress about. Mowing the lawn doesn't seem like much of a problem when you're worried about your paypal account going into the red. If his life was quiet right now it'd probably seem bigger to him like back when he had to pull weeds years ago. This is pretty normal for unemployed people with nothing going on. It's just many of them realize how bad it sounds when openly complaining about it.

Chris also likes to list everything he's doing because it establishes how much is going on in his life. He's probably mowed the lawn before but didn't have any reason to bring it up.

He's doing it on Facebook though. Not everybody who ordered something follows his facebook or comes to this forum.
Precedent has shown that, at least sometimes, he copy-pastes these Facebook posts as ebay messages to his buyers.

Imagine some clueless normal person who just randomly stumbled upon a yellow Sonic necklace apparently made by a five-year-old and decided to endulge the little dear, and then receive an eBay message containing... well, this.

Well, that actually could be grounds for a formal complaint - if the medallion you received is significantly lower in quality than the example posted on eBay. More so if it is obviously lower in quality than the medallions others receive.

Having said that, nobody is buying them for the quality of the pieces, so it's a rather moot point. One way or another, you get your piece of Christory.

This being Chris, I'm certain that people aren't expecting the medallions to be perfect copies of the one pictured in his listing. It is reasonable though, for them to expect a certain standard. The resulting medallions should at least be close.

This is why I'd like to see people post pictures of the medallions they purchased. I'd rather reserve my opinion until then.

But that's the thing. He's using children's toys to make childish crap. He's not making any real changes to his life, let alone real money. He's living a fantasy on life support - the Artist Chandler, living off his "art."

Is it a step in the right direction? Maybe. Generally speaking, I am not an optimist, and I am not going to start clapping like a deranged seal until everything's shipped. Because Lord knows, Chris has a long record of saying one thing and doing another.
