Any game that is tween flavour of the month - Minecraft, DayZ, PubG, Fortnight, etc
I like EU4 (but hate paradoxes bullshit DLC model) and remember reading some high level player quote along the lines of '40h to understand the very basics, 400h to be average, 4000 hours to be 'good'.

TF2's fandom used to be pretty terrible, thankfully most of the worst elements all moved on to the faggy autismfest that is Overwatch.

Eh you can get more then the basics in that 40 but you really start to master that shit at around 200 when you start to see through all of the abstractions of war through their battle systems.

Its barely even about the war stuff anymore since Awakening, now its about "shipping bait/OTP" bullshit among dumbass weeb shippers that obsess more over yuri/yaoi fanart than the simplified games themselves while still pretending to be elitists for simply playing what they consider to be the most "mature" Nintendo series and favoriting Deviantart drawings of male FE characters getting mpreg. Then there was that whole Nintendo Treehouse translation "scandal". Exceptional behavior all around between exceptional Nintendo devotees and FE loons.

In a way, Paradox 4X games are like the Rick & Morty of gaming, IE there's an elitist attitude that you need to be really smart to get it. I had someone try to tell me that you need to watch 30 minute videos to understand HOI4. You really don't. The tutorial explains almost everything in the game.

Basically, if it's brightly coloured, has lots of shippable characters, and/or "profound" if you're 14 years old, it attracts autists.
Then again, Elite Dangerous has its own autists though they're usually harmless and make extremely arcane in-jokes. For The Mug, and if you don't get that, go clean out Cubicle 3.

I'm surprised Elder Scrolls didn't get listed here. The autism may as well be in two camps: lore and modding/player-base.
The lore camp dives into the background of the game you can find beyond just what is shown in the main game. Said lore is all more or less made up by an ex-writer of the series whose work more or less sounds like it was all made while he was smoking crack mixed with shrooms. Now beyond all the weird psychobabble of things like Chim, C0DA, and the Amaranth said ex-writer makes, it's all more or less just to justify the construction set and mods.
The modding/player-base can pretty much be self-explanitory. Modding has allowed us to get all sorts of mods from letting women having big tits and other sexual content to putting in some autistic stuff like Sonic and MLP. The player-base ties into it because they more or less can back up these mods. Just imagine a neckbeard playing Skyrim where he has his Sonic/Pony custom character get into fights with bandits while wearing armor that exposes a penis. What makes modding autistic can be how some modders can get. I remember in the Skyrim modding thread how there was one modder that made a bunch of mods and then took them down because Trump won. There was also mention in the TES thread how there was a community of TES modders that made content that involves letting your character have sex.
The communities may never really rival that of Sonic but there can be overlap among those that play the games.

While milder than other fandoms, never forget those that sperged over RE7. One can admit to being skeptical of how first person would work but there are those that would go over board in their tism over an RE game trying something that's different from the previous title.

The Souls fanbase can get pretty autistic. A lot of them tend to be elitist, and there's a surprising amount of infighting over the different games. You can't turn your head without some sort of argument going on on any given website about why the sequels aren't as good or some shit. Not to mention a lot of people are downright obsessive with the game.
On the one hand it is admirable that the fans have been able to decipher the game and make it easier to understand for the average person, but on the other hand they're fucking everywhere and they aren't shy about forcing everyone to listen to them talk about how they got gud.

I can't believe the lengths some people go to in the Elder Scrolls/Fallout games. I enjoyed the games and just wanted to talk about a few funny things that happened in the game and some odd things. But almost everytime there was a team of modders going "LOL NO ONE CARES ABOUT THAT, NOW EVERYONE here's my modded in Sylvanas complete with horse sized futa dick, she lives in this Sanctuary Ice Palace from Frozen and Girls und Panzer sex slaves in the dungeon, complete with modded in BDSM animations."
It's like people don't even like the games themselves or play them, they just actually want to use the engine to create a visual representation of their personal fanfic crossover. Like they just want Minecraft, but if you added porn. Like sitting on the floor in the lounge room, playing with lego, but you modified some of the lego characters with giant dicks and boobs and act out the porn screenplay in your head.
It's the first thing I seem to hear from people these days too. Are there any mods coming? Like what happened to asking for a decent game? With options?

One can admit it would be fun to have Gandalf in Lich King armor at your side or Ripley with a minigun and power armor. But then you get all these mods that can take the tism up a notch. I remember a chan post (can't link it since it's dead) on a 8chan TES board mentioning cringy mod shit just how many of the mods had animu tism in them, that is how many mods made loli characters, whether it's donut steel companions or changing an existing character to look like some neckbeard weebs wet dream.
