I figured as much, Zuke always came off as being a few wires short of a circuit mind-wise thanks to her obsession over shipping Lapis and Peridot.

And I second those "saw it a mile away" when it comes to Sugar.

From what I can tell WD is less "batshit insane" and more "Parent who gives absolutely no shits about their child." And given the lack of reaction from the other diamonds, Homeworld has probably been fucked for a while and this isn't a recent change.

Seems like the episode was pretty rushed tbh.
I can't remember if we've ever seen an outside view of Homeworld before, but if not I think you're right that this may not be a recent development. Assuming the theory that the gem empire is at war and that that's why they're low on resources & needed the cluster is correct, it's even possible that this could have happened as a result of that. Or maybe WD really is that insane that she blew up the planet in rage.

How everyone there seems to already know that "Pink Diamond" is alive and back before they even arrive is strange and left unexplained. I doubt that WD has any sort of omniscience that would allow her to be aware of this, since she would have known from the beginning if that were the case. My current theory is that the "aura" thingy that Steven put out to show Blue and Yellow who he is has something to do with it. Maybe White was able to sense it and that's how she knew ahead of time and had an entourage prepared.
 
Yeah this probably should've been another two parter. They really jumped from A to B to C with no breathing room.

Also looking over it again, it seems WD might be stuck in that T-pose. Same with the Pearl, but WD seems to actually be rooted to her ship in some manner.

I liked seeing and hearing an uncorrupted Centi. Or Nephrite, I guess.
 
You know what expect for the next arc? A moment where Steven try to pull one of his "anyone can be good" shit and WD take advantage to attack him. Is inevitable and you know it. God, I really want WD to be a charismatic villain like Bill Chyper, Toffee or Lord Dominator that doesn't give a fuck about muh feelings and just want to achieve her goal. That could save the last half of the show.

For fucks sake people, anyone of you ever watched Kill la Kill? She is the rainbow haired freaky woman from that shitty anime.

I dunno, any villain who, when given the option to be forgiven and redeem themselves, rips their own heart out of their chest and crushes it in their hand while essentially saying “go fuck yourself” gets points in my book.

But I liked the anime, so...

If we are going for edgy shit like that I would play it like this. Steven defeats WD for whatever stupid reason or plot device and WD gives a tearful speech about how she wants to be good and help the rest of the corrupted gems. Steven it's about to confort her and WD just tear off the fucking gem out of his stomach. Steven is rolling in pain on the ground while she laughs and says "What? Did you really think that stupid trick would work on me like the other gems? Welcome to the real world, bitch!!!" And she dabs on him and he dies. Then the credits roll.


I guess i'm an Steven Universe writter now. Where is my paycheck and my new made up sexual identity?
