Fucking around with copics, again, because it's been awhile since I've drawn anything.

I wanted to draw cacti and euphorbs as cats okay? Stop looking at me like that.

The last one is unfinished because I'm trying to do fine details on bleeding paper like a madman.

In my quest to figure out portrait drawing, I've discovered charcoal pencils. Now I'm figuring out how to use them.

Now that I look at the end result, I definitely screwed up the eye symmetry and the back of the head. But hey, judging by the reference photos, this guy's head is odd-looking IRL anyway.

Nice work! Feels like a police sketch of the bloke in my profile picture...

Finished my drawing of Fudo-myoo yesterday! Here's to summarize the different elements in it...

Fudo-myoo is a Buddhist protector of the Dharma and leader of the Wisdom Kings mainly venerated in forms of Vajrayana Buddhism. Fudo is usually depicted as a blue, red or black-skinned "demonic" being (looking at the facial characteristics), wielding chains and his sword Kurikara, from which Fudo's dragon form emerges here.

There are various origin stories for the deity, one of them being that he actually is a redeemed demon. His (as well as the other Wisdom Kings') fierce appearance is more or less a tool for intimidating other beings, warning them about the consequences of bad deeds.

In my drawing Fudo-myoo is seated on a rock or cliff of sorts, which is a traditional symbol for his unshakeable Buddhist faith, earning him the title of the "Immovable One". The other two characters are his attendants Kongara-doji and Seitaka-doji. :)

I redrew something from back in my high school days. There was a point of my life where I was a massive Lord of the Rings sperg (I still am ;)) and I did a lot of somewhat mediocre LotR art.
I was super proud of this at the time. I've recently gotten huge into Christopher Lee and wanted to re-draw Saruman in his full badass glory.

Nice! I like the transition of thicker outlines to a more shaded, realistic approach. While personally I adore very hard inky black line work (something I'm always trying to emulate despite being garbage with ink), I can still dig it and then some.

Absolutely incredible! great sense of detail and line weighting!
