What Are The Worst Character Designs You Have Ever Seen?

Vocaloid has some really dumb designs.

Natashi Allegri drew that. I'm not a fan or familiar at all with her work but I'm sure she could draw better than that, it looks like she half-assed this picture for Vocaloid Ruby. The pose is really awkward and stiff and her legs look chunky yet they're bent like they're supposed to be that knock-kneed anime girl pose.
This is supposed to be box-art too for a product that costs around $100(?). She's a professional but imo this particular artwork looks like any decent DeviantArt/Tumblr artist could've drawn it.

The funny part is that there was this whole saltfest during Ruby's release because apparently when she was announced at AnimeExpo 2015, she had this design:

And apparently at the same time, the people who were developing Ruby's voicebank already had the aforementioned design ready.
The main problem though, was that the company that was distributing Ruby was never told about the other design. So, they made their own.

And basically the whole Vocaloid fandom accused said company of "whitewashing" Ruby.
Hilarity ensued for months on end.

Here's an entire article about it that does a better job explaining than I do:
https://www.vocaloidnews.net/ruby-summary/

In short, the company was accused of whitewashing, everyone pretended to care about Ruby for appx. 5 months until PFX changed the design to what everyone wanted, and then nobody used her or cared about her from then on.
Top kek.

Yeah, I heard about that. Watching the forums descend into screeching and fearmongering about how the company was being racist was so obnoxious. I know they made Ruby 'darker' skinned because her VA is Brazilian and they wanted to respect her heritage but the girl herself is light enough to be 'whitepassing' so it's not like any real person was getting targeted in the first place.

As much as I love the Prince of Persia games, I have to say, the Prince's design in Warrior Within is just, well to steal a quote from someone, "smoldering with generic angst."

Heh.....I member playing this a few months after finishing (and utterly loving) Sands of Time at the tender age of 12 and for the first time feeling that "oh well this contrived edgyness is embarrasing" cringe that has become so familiar to me now.

It really takes playing through the well lit and gorgeously persian/indian aesthetic'd/soundtracked fantasy game that was Sands of Time to truly appreciate the cringe that is "GRRRRYOU FUCKIN BITCH CRAAAAAAWLING IIIIIIIIIN MY SKIIIIIIIIIIN BLOOD GUTS AND SHITTY METAL MUSIC REEEEEEE!" Warrior Within

VIEWERS: "I wonder if the success of titles like Castlevania, Devilman Crybaby, etc. have convinced Netflix that there is a market for mature animation that appeals to people who aren't interested in the latest crappy animated sitcoms where the only aspect cruder than the animation is the humor."

NETFLIX: "Coming soon to Netflix, more 'edgy', 'adult', 'hilarious' cartoons with character designs that look like the mutant offspring of Family Guy and GoAnimate."
