He's listing prices when most artist have a commission sheet with varying prices. He could get those pieces of work for cheaper than he's putting the 'minimum' prices as. Hell, an artist could ask for those prices when normal the thumbnail might be 60-70 and the pin-ups maybe be 30-40 depending on complexity and the artist's skill. I feel like he meant the maximum he was willing to spend was 150 and 70 a piece.

Maybe he's doing it for brownie points? ie "I don't want greedy diva artists to keep sniping others for cheaper prices so they can get the job" just to make himself look better?

And a minor note, how would someone snipe someone else for a price when all the offers and applications are submitted via Jerry's email? The way I see it, the artists would email him with their rates for commissions that they would probably have on their blogs or dA journals by default.

That all being said, why isn't Jerry going out and seeking art commissions himself? Obviously, given the fact that someone else (supposedly) manages his entire social media life, that gives him a fuckton of free time that he probably either spends playing WoW or masturbating to underage lesbian porn.

You guys haven't even included the pinups too! If he got his wish and in a week he had all of these commissioned at the minimum price, we're talking $430 total here. Thats presuming he keeps it minimum though, I expect the actual spendings to be closer to or even above $500. That's more than half his spending gone on art, which is something not even FNGR would do.

Realistically though, I think it's going to be months before the pinups are even considered by an artist so that spreads the costs out more or he'll get lazy and make Lizzy do it but far more SFW, ya dig?

I've dealt with autistic hacks like this before.

Generally people want to go out of their way to make as high of a price offer as possible for two reasons: 1) They genuinely think that forcing high amounts of money onto artists gives them advantages such as faster turnout/higher quality art. 2) Forcing those high prices onto artists gives the commissioner ample grounds to accuse the artist of not delivering quality work in proportion to the amount they paid.

That second one is an awfully filthy tactic that used to be common at conventions where people sold art and commissions. People would purchase custom pins and posters and find any excuse to justify getting some financial compensation when they claim the work isn't up to par for whatever reason. It's why artists are so dead-set on setting the prices for themselves so as to prevent this convenient nit-picking from robbing them from hard-earned cash.

As for the first, Jerry is indeed someone I consider autistic enough to genuinely think that forcing someone to receive higher compensation will lead to work of substantially higher quality than their normal production tends to be. And in this case, Jerry could also be using the unusually high number as a bargaining chip should someone come into conflict with the fact that he's basically asking someone to draw art accusing Rebbeca Sugar of being racist.

Either way, not a good look for Jer-Bear.

Sure, it's not a pleasant feeling to be rejected or a pleasant thing to do to reject someone for something like this, but this is why you should have gone out and sought artists for the project, so you wouldn't have to break someone's heart or anything. There is a plentiful amount of such people who are open to doing art at a price on deviantart and tumblr. Surely you have the time to browse those sites, since you don't manage your social media anymore.

If you're into non-professional writing, check out wildblow. He has cool overpowered characters done in a way that exposes their vulnerabilities. As for Lilly, he has a distinct video style, but his criticism is too inconsistent. I doubt he makes a good author, though my only exposure to the idea has been this... thread. Horrible.
