Bigot Brigade Something Awful and Friends - The roller-coaster train-wreck embarrassing downfall of a Web 1.0 giant and its tick offspring like from Cloverfield

Yeah right..i mean the That $1000 chair...the mortgage for that 6000 square foot mcmansion and extra lot so he didnt have neighbors for $800000... The expensive imported $7 bottle ls of water from mongolia..the stupid piece of stupid sports car he leased for 7 years probably 50k and could of just paid ocf..the dumb fuckin office with no purpose (like nigga why you need a retail space u run a website)

No bad decisons at all man, sound investments above.

Edited for truth: Lowtax is a parvanu and has no class whatsoever. You could of doubled his income at his peak and he would of still been in the situation he is in today...drinking night train express and crushing narcotics. He is stupid white trash who lucked out for a few years but his destiny was always a run down double wide trailer.

That's great, but I bet his article on Notch and his alt-right comrades is going to be even better.
Didnt he flip out saying Minecraft was SA forums idea??? And that he should give his millions back to the forums? (Lol). He actually felt entitled to .01

Yes he did. On a banned twitter account

Lowtax holds multiple grudges about people "using somethingawful" to promote things that get big. When actually goons just start talking about something new and hot, sometimes a person or two involved had years old accounts and talked to goons about their project. I don't know if Notch had a somethingawful account and talked about minecraft there when it was in it's infancy or if Lowtax just had ambien induced false memories.

Yeah.

I remember lowtax saying something on twitter like " You wanted an idea for a game, the goons said Dig holes...and now you have billions of dollars how bout giving some of it back to the forums instead of skinny models and caviar baths. Asshole"

Notch did not bother replying

Goons beta tested Minecraft when it was in it's infancy and gave feedback but so did /v/ r/gaming and NeoGaf. They weren't as unique or essential as they claim.

I've mentioned it before but it's this combination of hostility to success and the obsessive dedication to so-called detached irony that scares away anyone remotely successful or risk-taking from SA. Why would you risk going out on a limb creatively when the site's current state is evidence that anyone who doesn't tow the utterly arbitrary line on every issue eats a ban or probation? Why would you want to possibly help a website whose owner appears to have not given a shit for almost 15 years?

Eating shit from /v/irgins and redditors for testing the waters of your game is far more beneficial in the long run than letting a dead gay comedy forum have first dibs for... reasons...

To this day I still believe that renting that storefront was a way to try and legitimize SA's business. Gotta rent out a cheap little nook that used to be a Verizon store or something so that you can drive your car "to work".

I wonder if anyone ever stumbled into the building unsure as to what it was, thinking it was potentially a novelty store or something.

Yeah it was this, he appeared on the minecraft goon IRC once in a while and we were involved in the early beta tests of multiplayer survival.

Ah yes, the thing that everyone originally came to SA for, weird, ranting, first draft blog posts whining about conservatives and being banned from twitter.

Alex Jones is funnier than Lowtax.

Alex Jones isn't banned from Twitter.

That might be part of the reason, but I think it was so LowT could get away from Chinkwife and her crazy church friends. And possibly drink / do drugs / smash goonette snatch on the DL.

Wasn't the true and honest Derek Smart on Somethingawful? I think he got permabanned, but also spent a boat load of money on Somethingawful apparently. They got the active content creator they deserve but let him go.

The office makes since if he needed place to put employees and supervise their work...like IT, writters....omg he didn' want shmorky in his house

Probably just was an excuse to get away from chinkwife.

I mean basking in the sweet blue radioactive glow of the SA Forums, Cheeto dust stained doorknobs, 3 rooms, dead roaches in corners, filthy baseboards and some hollow-core doors. Goon paradise.

Chinkwife: "How was your day Richard"
Lowtax: "Rough day..payroll..conference call with Dr. Crabs. Being a website owner is serous business"

It was the TRUE and HONEST Derek Smart on SA. He was even made Moderator of the Star Citizen forum until the doxxing thing happened. He has some weird bone to pick with the Star Citizen people because they basically made 30 million dollars making the type of game he's been making for 20 years.

and afaik lowtaxs ex-wife is one of those crazy Christian Koreans. You know the type

He's beef with Chris Roberts, the creator of Star Citizens, spans multiple decades. They both pitched space combats games and Roberts' Wing Command became widely popular while Smart's Battlecruiser 3000AD went through development hell. He's basically mad that Roberts' is a more successful version of him.

I think the only time there was someone lowtax didn't know in the office was when he decided to not renew the lease. He made an announcement that anyone could come down and take shit from the the office. Only one person showed up like 8 hours after the announcement was made. The person found lowtax passed out on the couch.

I have to admit, I felt pretty bad for Lowtax that day. He probably thought he'd have a spontaneous goon meet, play video games and shit all night just like the good old days.

It's worth noting that goon meets would usually happen in areas inhabited by people, though. His office (that he didn't need) was in Lee's Summit, Missouri (population - not even 100,000) not remarkably far from his house.

Its worth noting that pretty much the only SA posters left are perma-triggered social-justice incel shut-ins, and even if they'd have been able to get money from their parents to head out SA HQ, they wouldn't have had to spoons to leave their goon hovels.
Plus it was in flyover country, life just isn't worth living if you aren't in a coastal city.

Goonmeets (gooncamp)were a big deal back in the day.. I remember having a classmate try and get me to go to one back in 2003. I declined, he had just introduced me to the site I thought it was cool but I didnt want to meet any of them. Turns out when got back he told me a story about some gangbang in a tent and a lice outbreak and somebody throwing feces on tents. Glad i never went
