Dave misunderstood Patreon from the beginning. The basic proposition of the website is "Give me X dollars and I'll be have the freedom to do this extra stuff, give me X+200 and I can do this, give me X+700..." etc. and on and on. HE treats it like a monthly telethon. Like something time-sensitive.

And that misunderstanding forms the basis of his misguided complaints about Patreon earnings displays. He thinks cumulative pledges in a month should be displayed (constantly increasing like a telethon graph), while the site correctly shows how much money is being pledged to him at that exact moment. This interpretation is not time-sensitive, but as he has explained before, time-sensitivity allows him to beg more effectively.

So perhaps his ignorance is not earnest.

In God Hand? Not exactly the hardest game to figure out what you're supposed to do (beat anything that moves). Not like the chat can play the game for Phil...

God Hand except he never got to the hard part so it was a regular stream.
Street Fighter he hardly played.
And Scarface which was salty because you could tell he didn't wanna play it and acted like a baby over every little thing.

He said he might play more Street Fighter. He was clearly enjoying it but didn't want to admit it because he's been shitting all over it since day one and it ranked him in bronze tier.

The game is from Clover Studios/Platinum, so it’s already a brutally hard game. There’s a reason Bayonetta is one his more infamous playthroughs.

*) Which could also mean something very different if Dave desires another meaning. If he says: "I never ragequit a game" he obviously means "I never ragequit a fighting game (which is untrue)". And when he says "I would pimp slap that annoying bitch of a kid if she talks to me like that in real life" he obviously means "I would slap a hypothetical totally different kid" and 5 minutes later "Her parents should teach her a lesson, but not meee reee". And when you repeat the exact thing Dave stated himself, which he also recorded so anyone can look it up, you're obviously an idiot.

DSP probably didn't ever build PCs or have LAN parties. He just latches on to whatever is cool or was cool in the timeframe he's discussing.
  • High school? Tall guy nobody messed with who was smart without studying and got the babes.
  • College? Best parties getting completely messed up and also got the babes. Also custom PCs and LAN parties in the early 2000s when they were all the rage.
  • Late teens/early adulthood? A professional level fighting game player who was better than his peers.
  • Later adulthood? Full blooded Italian man just like 90% of the people in Connecticut claim to be, also has a sweet young girlfriend that likes those big strong Italian men.
  • Later adulthood? Successful business owner with a nice house and a beemer in the garage.
  • Now? Muh legacy is about the best he can do. I guess muh girl to a lesser extent. He has run out of "cool" things to pretend he has/is.

It's not that difficult on Normal. But Phil would no doubt struggle and definitely bitch about the camera.

The funny thing about this is that painting himself as big man on campus back in the day just makes his current situation look even worse. If he'd always been a reclusive chubby manchild, people might be a little more empathetic towards him. Instead he's painted this picture of being the alpha chad in his younger years which makes modern day gout riddled beggar Phil look like a fucking cautionary tale.
