The funny part about this comparison is that AVGN was deliberately designed as a satire of nerd culture, yet Phil completely misses the satire part of the AVGN and just brainlessly parrots the swears thinking it’s just as good. It’s like watching South Park just for the fart jokes.

Honestly, Phil to me is basically those threads on 4chan about "tired gamers". He's the personification of everything anons talk about in those threads: nothing is fun, everything is boring, playing games is a chore, there's nothing to look forward to, why do I force myself to do this, why can't I do something else, why do I even bother.

That's why the TIHYDP scene is stagnant. Phil just doesn't give a good god damn about what he plays anymore and this rage-a-thon proved it. I think the highlight was him actually saying GodHand was fun, but he also didn't make it to when the game starts cranking it up. I'll admit I only checked in on the restream here and there, but I quickly went to do other stuff since...it was dull. Like every other DSP stream. It's boring.

The best DSP material these days are his prestreams and when he streams himself doing anything other than actually playing a game. I'm waiting for the next emergency to occur because then we will get something humorous from him. As it stands, I'm just not being entertained.

Yeah. The reason we have those hour+ prestreams are because he has no friends, I don't imagine him and Khet talk much, and so his only human "interaction" is via his fans.

Plays IWBTG, puts himself in the appropiate category on twitch.
Switches to SFV, puts himself in the SFV section.

I find it funny how he claimed he used to be a PC gamer and hosted LAN party's (for Quake iirc) yet he doesn't know where the R key is on a keyboard. I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't know where WASD was too.

I get that the "30 year old boomer" is the new hot meme, but there's a pretty decent copy-pasta about zoomers on twitch to the tune of Money for Nothing going around and it fits Phil. Who is a millennial if he's 36 and was born in 82, so not a zoomer, he is one of those dastardly millenials. I think he just never ever plays PC games since he's just a simple gamer and I guess fooling with the extra two steps to set up a PC game annoys him.

If you remember that time his internet crapped out, he streamed with his phone’s newer camera. He looked even older and even more broken.
