So the lore on young dave is that he was a bodybuilder cool guy who threw awesome parties and built PC’s while having crazy LAN parties but he was on a cocktail of medication because he was stalking a girl and wanted to do “something drastic” who also was the valedictorian of his class but couldn’t get into Ivy League college because he was white. That’s a lot to take in, boys.
:autism: incoming: If DSP was top of his high school class, he would have gotten into UConn and not gone to...wherever he went. He picked UConn as his alma mater in the classic Madden 12 playthrough, but has never once stated where he went to college (at least that I'm aware of). A high school number one almost always has a 4.0 GPA or above due to GPA bullshittery high schools often pull, UConn's current average GPA acceptance is only 3.6 and there's around a 50% acceptance rate. UConn does not auto-admit like some state flagship schools, I believe, so they are selective. Still, that's not a bad shot.
I don't know jack shit about all this new SAT mess, but I think the ACT has remained pretty constant. What I've found states that UConn "regularly" accepts students with an ACT score of 26 or above. The maximum score for the ACT is 36.
Now, if DSP was really a "jock" he would have done better on the ACT than the SAT as the stereotype was that the ACT stood for "Athletic Competence Test" since jocks/athletes tended to perform better on the ACT than the SAT. Which was true in my case, but I think these days it's evened out a bit.
DSP was never going to go to the ivy league, he just thinks that if he spurts out he was valedictorian people will believe him when he says he got shit on for being white. I mean, it's true, white people have a harder time getting into college than minorities and there have been law suits regarding admission practices where the prospective student has won but the ivy league can do whatever the hell they want. People ranked number one and people ranked in the top ten percent get rejected from tons of schools, especially private schools. That's why there's a push to do away with class rank/GPA as a determining factor in college admissions, some high schools are easier than others. Much, much easier.
If DSP actually did complete a university education, he ended up at some no-name shithole school in the middle of bumfuck Connecticut. He wasn't first in his class and he had pisspoor test scores. He and I are close to the same age so when I was going through the college admissions process he was already through with it and things hadn't changed in those few years. Looking at UConn's admission requirements and stats it is impossible that DSP would not have gone there if his tales of academic prowess are true. He probably just went to the first place that would have him.
