Ultimately this is a result of a mid life crisis, he wants to be seen as a real adult rather than just that guy from youtube. He feels like he has grown beyond his current identity and wants to move beyond it. It's almost sad
It really is sad watching him try escape from his past. When Sam Harris said he wouldn't have him on his podcast because Sargon was just a troll and Sargon went on to moralize about how it's just internet culture and Sam doesn't get it. He was 37 when he was a "gamergate troll", not exactly young, but now he's pretending that he's anything more than a dude who screamed at feminists on the internet.
