anyone else like this podcast? i find it amusing and informative. i especially like the mark david chapman and dahmer episodes because they exhibit classic lolcow traits. i recently got @Melchett into it.

They just finished their two parter on The Donner Party. They also went over Kathy Knight. It’s basically been cannibalism for the last four episodes, but still interesting imo

Probably my favorite podcast, or at least true crime podcast. The Casey Anthony, Jim Jones/Jones Town, and MK Ultra are some of my favorite episodes

I gave it a try, but honestly I have never been one for podcasts in general (if the emperor had a text-to-speech device podcast excluded obviously) and when it comes to true crime/unresolved mysteries I especially like doing my own research and my own reading. Nothing too obnoxious or autistic bout the podcast, just not my cup of tea

This is one of the reasons why I am so goddamn grateful for the internet since it gives these types an outlet where they can pour their obsessions and mania without harming people, and in a form that provides entertainment to the likes of us.
Obviously (and sadly) not all sickfucks and psychos do this, but I like to think being able to express themselves and act out their schtick online has saved a good few lives over the past two decades

I like it alright. Sometimes their sense of humor irritates me, or goes on too long and I'm there just saying "get on with it!" but it's never been bad enough to make me abandon it.
My favorite episodes are either the ones centered around Jonestown, Pee Wee Gaskins or the McMartin Preschool satanic panic.

Yeah the podcast is kinda phoney in they pretend to be the ultimate iconoclasts and believe in sort of a lucieferian ideal but ultimately you get the sense they are all chapo trap house style Brooklyn hipsters who will say the CIA definitely killed Kennedy but there no way they might have done some funny business with the 2020 election.
Basically anytime the Paranormal/conspiracy stuff conflicts with being a liberal democrat they will back off.
Also sometimes they take a really definitive stand on unsolved cases that have no answer, but they act like one theory is 100 percent true.

genuinely amazed he could drink enough booze to get drunk at his weight. also what a fun coincidence that he's replaced by a guy needing a job right when we're in the worst part of the hollywood strikes.
not to say they were cooler a decade ago, but you can really tell they went from moderates to lefty fags hard, especially ben. i remember him being a huge anti-feminist in 2013, going after all those blue check cunts. If he assaulted a bitch back then he wouldn't have even bothered with rehab. i remember him not doing shit when Luis J Gomez ejaculated all over his clothes so even this whole "he hit me" stuff seems sus. Arguably the coolest little bit of history about this podcast is that its actually a spin-off of Pat Dixon's New York City Crime Report podcast, back in 2011-2015 Marcus was Pat's cohost and ben and Henry were the usual guests. Marcus was a crime junkie just like Pat but really wanted to focus more on famous crime stories vs just recent new york rapes. Pat finally told him to just do a separate podcast and that was history.
its hilarious hearing those old episodes because they are a full 180 from their current social media. it sounded like a show Mike & Sven would produce vs what LPOTL sounds like.

He's got to be drinking an incredible amount which in turn is making him absolutely bloon. I listen on and off and don't ever check out their social media so I've no idea what they've looked like since about 2018. I saw a recent stream on YouTube by chance and fuck he looks rough. Watching him sup from his huge cup I was thinking dude probably has a shit load of vodka in there and this was before I read about him going to rehab and woman beating accusations.

Update on the Ben Kissell scandal; the most recent episode of Last Podcast opened with a pre=recorded bit where Marcus continuing to stonewall fans about what the fuck is going on with Ben and begging their fans to not cyberbully Ben's ex-girlfriend.
Which combined with the fact that most of the major SWJ mafia websites conveniently avoiding mentioning the story or even the cover story of Ben going to a sanitarium, makes me think that Marcus and Henry are burning every fucking favor they've banked toing the SJW line the last decade and a half to bury the story of Ben's disgrace. And are now basically bargaining with Ben's ex to make her STFU and go away and realize that their fans might just burn every fucking thing down on them in a fashion which would make Marcus and Henry's party line anti-Gamergate stance even more hypocritical as fuck.

With girlfriend beating, Ben has fucked them really hard. People would forgive him being a drunk - he has been for years. But if he hit his girlfriend and they keep him involved in any capacity, they're going to have problems. People will be pissed if they continue without Ben. People will be pissed if they continue with Ben, and Ben might be too retarded to keep his mouth shut even if they cover up for him. They don't have many good options here.
They play at being edgy, but they're far too comfortable these days to be genuinely controversial. It's bad for business, especially when they tour doing live shows.

They seem to be building the sympathy angle in so far as Ben going straight to rehab without any attempt to personally defend himself, so they can blame it on being Ben having a nervous breakdown brought on by his binge drinking. and given how Ben went from dapper to looking like a homeless man during COVID and not bothering to clean up afterwards, when the "I'm letting myself go for COVID lockdown!" time period long lapsed, they'll probably arc weld that onto Ben's "it was liquor and unresolved childhood trauma from growing up in a Fundie household and being an outcast growing up and never properly getting over it" card.
Like I said though, they ae burning a LOT of favor cards at the moment to pull a Zoe Quinn and bury the story. And the cajones of them sending Ben straight to rehab and stonewalling, indicates they might realize that they CAN bully the ex into either recanting or shutting up and vanishing and then after enough time passes, Ben making a return fully contrite and doing a Bojack where he apologizes for unstated bad behavior with his ex caused by his drug problems and Ben doing a full-on "born again" bit promoting the virtues of therapy and drug rehab that Marcus and Henry will have to go along with in terms of giving up liquor and booze to create the illusion of them supporting Ben's sobriety. And of course, making any reference to the scandal and the accusations levied against Ben being declared harem and the gang falling further into debt with the SJW Mafia now that they have a hole in their ship and are reliant on kissing SJW mafia ass to avoid being canceled.
The only way I can see shit going bad is if Ben (who owns a third of the LPOTL rights-wise) going Samson in the temple on Marcus and Henry if they try and fuck him over and force him out/fire him. IIRC the Patreon was set up in Ben's name (and done solely because Ben was having to go on Fox News shows like Kennedy and Tucker Carlson's shows to make money to keep the podcast afloat financially during the early years and the Patreon was to eliminate the need for him to do that since Marcus and Henry were pissy that people were assuming the podcast was right wing due to Ben's appearing regularly on the network). So Henry and Marcus would lose THAT if they force Ben out. I think on some major level Henry and Marcus know they can't get rid of Ben without destroying their entire cash cow and Marcus in particular is fucked since Henry has his comedy career to fall back on whereas Marcus has nothing really. Hence them stonewalling and hoping against hope they can ride out the storm and make Ben's ex go away ASAP.
But the fans are the real wildcard though. If they keep going after Ben's ex, then the whole thing will explode into the mainstream media and hell breaks loose. And I can tell, in a way, in Marrcus's voice when talking indicates he might be aware that the same anti-Gamergaters who Marcus and Henry sucked off will turn their evil eye of death on them if their fans don't STFU and let Henry/Marcus make Ben's ex go away on their own.
