That example was the opposite extreme tho. The woman in Catherine being trans was treated as plot twist, which i guess is better than just pandering but it killed the character because it overshadowed everything else about her. Even those who never played Catherine are aware of her because enough people got offended to make it a "controversy".

What i mean is, making a big deal about a character being trans will either considered pandering or transphobic, even if it isn't. You can do it for sure but you audience will ignore everything else and focus on the gender alone.

Anyway, enough of this talk have some material

It's a bit surprising how little of RWBY i ever seen on this thread, the tumblr fandom LOVES to blackwash Blake.

I remember seeing that Blake pic a while ago. I was waiting for someone to show that blog on here lol.

from experience of having a completely black cat getting shaved and being black underneath, cats skin usually match the fur. probably 99% of the time, if animal planet taught me right (of course tell me if im wrong)

EDIT: the pink that you usually see, from googling it, is probably the unerlying fleshy tones/blood underneath
Hairless cats skin have the coat pattern or color they would have if they had hair. They can even have strips if they were to have a tabby pattern. They can have a pointed pattern like you see with Siamese cats, calico pattern, and texudo pattern. The reason why the classic hairless cat is pink because the original breeding stock were white cats. Cat genetics are less malleable than dog genetics and cat breeders routinely introduce other cat breeds to their breeding stock. For example a Scottish fold breeder I was checking out breeds their Scottish fold tom with two British short hair females and the kittens still look like your classic fold.

So you can have a hairless Scottish fold or bobtail. They aren't pedigree, but most cat owners don't care about pedigree.

Hey Kiwis, I have a question. You don't have to answer if you don't to, but it's just a little thing: How can you write a trans character without stating that they are trans or plastering trans flags everywhere?
After following this thread, I think the key factor to keep in mind when answer this question is this: Don’t write any type of character you aren’t enthusiastic about or interested in exploring.

Probably the most insidiously damaging thing about SJWisms when it comes to art, storytelling, and characters is that they firmly believe that every artist out there is morally obligated to portray and represent every ethnicity and minority identity imaginable (or in some cases imaginary) regardless of that artist’s background, intent, or personal interests. Which is just not how people work, even if someone cares about most causes they likely only actively pursue only a handful of the ones they feel the strongest about. It’s ridiculous to demand that every story include representation for every social movement and minority’s group, it’s like if PETA went to LGBT entertainment and demanded that they include a plot line about saving the whales - nevermind that those two things have little overlap.

And when you scroll through Tumblr and Twitter, that mindset is glaringly obvious in how they write all their minority characters. They don’t make characters black or trans or he/him lesbians because they’re interested to see what that character would be like with those traits, they do it because all their goony SJW cliques told them that’s what they’re supposed to do. There’s no passion, no enthusiasm in those designs, so at best they make a bland cardboard cutout where the best they can do is a “Have I Mentioned That I’m [insert minority’s status here] Today” shirt, or at worst they’re caricatures that put old 50s propaganda to shame.

Point being, if you’re actively interested in transgenderism and don’t just feel obligated to write a trans character because of hamfisted “representation,” chances are you’ve probably either done/doing the research or have personal experiences to draw from that will allow you to implement those aspects in organically without needing to call attention to. For instance Avatar the Last Airbender was made by people who were crazy passionate of martial arts, so it was only natural that the cultures (and by extension the ethinicities) those styles of martial arts originated from were implemented into the show. It’s the “writers” and “fans” who claim you absolutely NEED to have X amount of representation, regardless of context, you need to be wary of.

Solution: a trans lesbian humpback whale is harpooned by bigoted Japanese whalers, who are not just whalephobic but especially hate whales of oppressed minority status.

Wow, the Slug Girl remake looks great.

Don't forget those with nigger skin.

And to not double post, here's a piece of shitty art I found.

Hey Kiwis, I have a question. You don't have to answer if you don't to, but it's just a little thing: How can you write a trans character without stating that they are trans or plastering trans flags everywhere?

The thing about private and internal character traits like sexuality, troonism, minor mental illness, etc. is that you it's hard to show those traits without it being awkward. These traits are usually irrelevant to any overarching conflict, and just as often are irrevelant to the characters themselves.

It can be done, certainly. "Show, don't tell" and all that. But it requires specific narrative circumstances where such a topic can naturally be brought up. Since the story usually isn't about these internal characteristics, this is usually done by taking a detour from the main story and forcing in a scene where it has to be brought up. This is usually just as, if not more awkward than just outright stating the trait out loud.

If the story isn't about the character's troonyness, and you can't naturally flow the story into a situation where their troonyness can be discovered or brought up naturally, then you should consider scrapping that part of the character altogether.

I learned recently that D.VaxBrigite is a big overwatch ship on tumblr for no other reason than... they're both girls so it's gay i guess?

But disregarding that, i found out that apparently sjws love to draw Brigitte as a man.

You may call her... MANgitte.

>Brigitte making the OK symbol
Didn't know the Swedes were such white nationalists.

Call me :optimistic:, but all the outrage over the Mercy nerfs (for the millionth time), and Tom Powers being a thread-worthy lolcow in general on the OW forums, I think this might calm down the art for at least a while.
