My money that his unremitting interruptions will piss off the judge so much, that Mark Waid will get fined for contempt of court

'Twould indeed be glorious, but I'm guessing Zaid is going to be clamping down on him pretty hard. Whether that will actually stop Waid is more up in the air. None of what we've heard about him paints him as someone with a lot of self control.

Mark Waid has joined Humanoids as Director of Creative Development for a new initiative titled 'H1,' with plans to write new projects as well, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This comes just one week after artist/director John Cassaday was named as Humanoids' Chief Creative Officer.

"This opportunity excites me to no end," said Waid. "I’ve seen what Humanoids is about to unleash, and it’s unlike anything else I’ve ever seen in this industry. I had to be a part of it. The chance to work closely with younger, diverse talent with strong voices - to learn as well as to teach - is electrifying."

In addition to his writing work, Waid has had several staff positions at comic publishers over the years including editor (Fantagraphics, DC), Editor-in-Chief/Chief Creative Officer (BOOM! Studios), writing mentor (Archie Comics), and co-owner (Gorilla Comics, Thrillbent).

"Mark Waid has written some of the most popular and most influential stories in the history of comics. To bring a writer like Waid into the fold - to both write new stories and to help us develop and refine other projects - speaks to the ambition and seriousness of our plans for the future."

The company's October 5 New York Comic Con panel promises announcements of "New Projects! New Heroes! Hot creators! A bold new direction ushering in a new era in comics."

"Yes, that's right! You heard correctly, please send over the biggest social and legal liability you have right away!"

I'm sure this will be a resounding success, just like Waid's other "youthful" properties.

How is this the guy who wrote Incorruptible and Irredeemable? I'm almost ashamed to admit I like anything he's ever done at this point.

Chances are he was never that good, and has just been playing up his contributions. That appears to be the case with Kingdom Come, and you don't steal credit once, you do it constantly.

That's what's so weird. He's not like Bendis who has been a train wrack of a writer as of late. The dude still writes entertaining stuff, so I'm not surprised when he's given top level positions. I just find it said to see him piss away any respect I had for him by acting like a paranoid sjw and attacking other industry rookies who literally did nothing to him personally to provoke such action. Calling someone's publisher they worked hard to get just because you don't agree with their views on the industry is asshole shit. This is literally the one of the times you let the market decide.

The market had already decided, and this fascist little fuck decided to start cheating. That just happens to be breaking the law.

His work on the The Flash in the nineties set the foundation for many future stories, particularly the concept of the Speed Force. His 2006 run on the title was atrocious, though. I really like his run on Impulse, which was a fun title with an extremely likable character in Bart Allen. It really stands in contrast to the cringe fest that was Champions. Hell, his 2004 run on Legion of Super-Heroes, where he transformed the team into a "movement" of malcontents not unlike the failed Occupy Wall Street and failing Resistance of later years wasn't as heavy-handed.

Honestly, I would not be surprised if Waid based "Threeboot" Brainiac 5's insufferable and arrogant personality on himself. The main difference is that Brainy has a twelfth-level intellect to back it up. Waid is just a dumbass.

Jesus christ he was bad on Champions and marvel is retarded for letting him do it.
>make a book about social activist superheroes
No one wants to read that trash. Then he fucks up. He makes a point of saying this team is gonna fight threats that punching cant fix, then processed to have the heroes punch the villains. So dumb.

So he is indeed out of Marvel then? Beyond finishing up whatever work owed. That certainly makes Marvel/Mouses lives much easier. "Hey gang the big giant liability bomb just wandered off to explode on somebody elses. Yay!"

Most likely. After all it's unlikely he would take them out of his profile if they hadn't ordered him to... and generally if you have to order someone not to associate themselves with your name, it's not because you're keen to keep hiring them on. If this were just some dustup with a fan, I could almost see them having him write under a pseudonym... except it's his name they want to hire, not his actual writing. Big Names Sell Books and all that shit. With him bringing down actual legal heat I wouldn't be surprised if he's been declared persona non grata over at the Mouse.

But comics are an incestuous industry full of nepotism and backroom deals, which is why I think one of Waid's higher-up buddies probably called up Humanoids and said "Hey fam, we've got a comrade who's managed to get himself in a little trouble because he was fighting The Comic Nazis, and our evil corporate overlords won't let us pay him for his half-assed bullshit anymore. You think you could do it instead? Yeah, he's a Big Name. Okay, sure, thanks!"

He’s close with John Cassaday, who was just hired as the CCO of Humanoids like a week ago.
