Trashfire The BetterHelp, CreatorHealth, InfluenceLogic Rabbit Hole - Candid 2.0, brought to you by Joel Robbinson

nice try turkey tom we know it's you.
Seriously though, everyone and their mother is shilling Shane Dawson's new series just because Jake Paul is the person to hate now, which makes it odd since Shane is trivializing sociopathy... Only to shill therapy to try and cure depression in his audience...
not sure who this turkey tom fellow is, we are completely unrelated and i have nothing to do with him in any way :)

I don't think this was posted in here.

Teladoc has a subsidiary called Compile Inc (see screenshot).

This is their website. It's the typical analytical jargon, looking at user relationships and using that info to generate revenue.

On their contact page, they don't list a CEO. The about page gives a good overview of the company

Here's an explanation of their business intelligence API.

Bloomberg's intelligence page on them is barren. According to this site, Isaac Fehrenbach is the president and co-founder (this site lists him as the principal). This query lead me to this page, it lists Alon Matas as the CEO. Scrolling down on Alon's archived LinkedIn, he lists himself as Compile's CEO and founder.

Here's a link to their FaceBook page (some screenshots below). In one post, they brag about the emergence of big data collection. In another, they list a chat that shows what big data does, such as knowing how to use Tableau software. Side note: Tableau is used by the U.S. Intel Community (and given that this co has links to IDF, it's not surprising).

Why does this matter? This SEC document lists Compile Inc as d/b/a as BetterHelp (d/b/a means "doing business as").

I've also uploaded Teladoc's SEC Form 10-Q (comprehensive quarterly report that must be submitted).

On page 6 of the document it mentions this:

On page 23, this:

In Mid 2017, Teladoc filed an 8k (document acknowledging corporate changes regarding merger of Best Doctors).

Their filling from Q1 of this year (end of March 2018) mentions the merger and Teladoc's interest in the subsidiary companies on Note 2.

It looks like the merger with Best Doctors essentially eliminated Teladoc Physicians p.a, and the other subsidaries (including Compile Inc) were re-incorporated this year or end of last year.

California's Secretary of State mentions that the company is active.

TL;DR: Teladoc is one big data collection operation.

Compile Inc and Compile, Inc are 2 different things.
Compile, Inc is the alternate business name of Better Help.
Compile Inc is a data collection company.

The comma matters.

I'm probably looking way too into this, but anyone else find it peculiar how Defranco's video refers to the Better Help situation as "BH Response" in the title of his video? I feel like he's trying to prevent it from popping up in Youtube's search results if they specifically look up Better Help, though I'm probably reaching with this.

Meanwhile, I Fucking called this shit:
I really wonder if Defranco would ever make a video to actually discuss this issue. Unless some spergs on Reddit make a big shitshow to attract his general audience's attention, he probably will keep shilling for them.

And mark my words:
If he ever does address the situation, I'm sure that he's not going to disassociate his brand from them. He'll instead give some wishy-washy apology about it, but also try and say how he was just trying to help promote a good cause.
His video will solve nothing, and just make him look like a good guy for "addressing" the controversy.
...

He may of suspended using them as a sponsorship, but I'm 99.99% positive that he's not going to find and report anything outstanding when he visits the company's HQ. Wouldn't surprise me to see him resume his sponsorship once the company fixes their awful terms of service, as if that was the core issue.

Another little mystery is a woman named Marie Miguel.

Mystery blogger with no background beyond promoting Better Help on dozens of mental health sites.

From what I've found, she is a ghost. Elaborate backstory (10 years of writing, family, etc...), yet virtually nothing online shows up from her other than Better Help promotions. I only found 1 article of hers that wasn't promoting it.
Capture.JPG

I have found her as a guest contributor on other mental health sites/blogs. Now, the editors of those sites she guest writes for ALSO have no history other than promoting Better Help, even though they have bios and backstories that would suggest they should have more of a footprint online.

I've archived and capped a lot, but i'm half drunk off sleeping pills right now. I think this woman and other bloggers like her are bots made by Better Help, sent out in the vast internet to prey on the weak. There is a site where they use kid's mental health to push the app as well. Gross.

This is "her" promoting TeleHealth....who's at the top??? Who is this woman?

It's more a partnership at this point then a sponsorship. I don't doubt that Defranco has some sort of vested financial interest in them on a company level. There's no way he will back away from them unless the public pressure gets intense.

I would venture to say they have some legit people on staff to do talks and handle specific customers but this is exactly what all of the "Network marketing" companies do. It's likely that most of their "counselors" are people who paid 400 bucks to become licensed by their training service. They basically disavow anything done by their contractors with the ToS which is just another bad sign.

They have multiple income sources: Selling the service via affiliate, signing up other people to sell affiliates, signing up "counselors" to provide the service, selling the data of the customers and likely other ways we don't know with all the IDF and other stuff.

Lets also not overlook the fact Philly D committed fraud by not disclosing his backroom deal with Better Help before promoting it.

It is unethical (*edit: also fraudulent) to promote a product or service as an affiliate/paid sponsor without disclosing the back-end deal separate from the affiliate/paid sponsor deal.

Smells like fraud to me, especially since it appears none of the other affiliates knew Philly D had this deal in place.

Edit: In reviewing his video from yesterday, he says he explained the back end deal from the beginning, so Ill work on trying to corroborate that claim.

What would the legal ramifications be if he were found guilty of fraud for this?

I had to revise this reply multiple times. Apparently they are different, but they both use the comma. After comparing Compile, Inc (Matas) and the other Compile, Inc on the CA sec state site (also should have double checked the Foreign Registration, Matas is from Delaware and the other from Nevada). The difference is WILL DO BUSINESS AS. I should have doubled check that and will revise my post. I still think this is about data and the other Compile, Inc is shady (and in healthcare data too).

DeFranco might also be calling it "BH situation" because either he's trying to damage control his biggest sponsor (considering how closely connected Rogue Rocket and the companies around BetterHelp), or Defranco owns a massive part of BetterHelp/(((someone))) behind BetterHelp owns DeFranco's company/likeness

Her profile on betterhelp.com has some information: https://www.betterhelp.com/advice/general/marie-miguel/

Screenshot_2018-10-05 Marie Miguel Bio BetterHelp.png

Seems she's from the Philippines - St. Paul College is a Catholic girls' school, St. Benilde a Catholic college (which acording to Wikipedia dropped the "University" from its name in 2004, maybe she graduated pior to that).

She does not claim any background in mental health (most of her profiles describe her occupation as an "avid internet researcher") but has had her content "published on mental health authorities[!] like TheMighty, Yahoo, GoodMenProject, ADAA, CCPA-ACCP, Silverts, AMHCA, etc...".

The information in that profile might be enough to find her linkedin if she has one, St. Benilde also has lists of gradutes and dean's lists discoverable through google if anyone wants to dig through that (not that it would be much use without knowing her maiden name).

Power leveling a bit here but yeah I'm familiar with Benilde as I know of people who go there and shit. From what I know, its something of a branch of De Lasalle University, one of the bigger universities in the country. However its mostly for humanities and artsy courses, so I doubt she's a psych major if she came from there. Could be wrong tho, Taft is a sketchy ass place and I wouldn't go there at night so I don't know much bout the colleges there, this is all from the stereotypes I've heard from friends.

Making a list of people who are still shilling it after the news broke, big list but willing to bet it is still missing lots of names still.

edit: reviews of betterhelp from past workers
https://archive.is/RuWuN

Found a glowing review of betterhelp at mindcology, once you click the betterhelp link you see "source=affiliate&utm_campaign=Trevor+McCann" , Trevor McCann is the registrant of the mindcology website, so clearly not a real review but an ad. I was unable to find any other link between Trevor McCann and mindcology but the founder of it is a person called Trevor Jay, Jay's linkedin also states he is "Digital marketer specializing in content marketing, SEO and paid advertising." and has links to another shady business called Lifecell South Beach Skincare which is a anti-aging facial cream

Half tempted to make a video on this fiasco.

DeFranco's response was so unsatisfactory (he doesn't seem to mention all the cash he must be raking in from other creators - and what about the privacy concerns?), I can't help but feel he's already made his mind up (his little investigation will be little more than a PR exercise to demonstrate what a fair-minded and independent journalist he is).

There's also, as serious as this is, a comical ridiculousness to all this - Betterhelp honestly expected people in dire mental straights to have the initiative to carry out thorough background checks on their own, supposed, counsellor? ---- "Forget your dead kids for a second whilst you cross examine Mystic Meg's psychology credentials"
