Hey everybody, apologies if this has been discussed, but searching back through the last ~15 pages quickly didn't yield anything. I noticed that people dug up information about Teladoc.

Currently getting a fucking network error trying to archive anything, so my apologies.

As a rule of thumb, whenever you're searching for an Israeli health-related company, always toss in a search for an ugly behemoth called Teva Pharmaceuticals. They are apparently the world's biggest generic drugmaker, and were a pretty prize for investors. They've bought out a countless number of companies and have an incredible stranglehold on the drug market. They've frequently been "attacked" by political figureheads for their high prescription drug prices, but conveniently, they have their own generic market to bolster in the case that prescription drug prices ever are forced to decrease. In the past 3 years, they have invested in telehealth. Fundamentally, BetterHelp is a telehealth platform.

Teva has faced criticism for raising the price of its own branded multiple sclerosis drug Copaxone in recent years, a common practice among larger pharmaceutical companies. Hayden countered that Teva’s generic medications have saved the U.S. healthcare system $162 billion over 10 years.

So, why is this even relevant? Well I did a quick search for Teva in relation to Teladoc, the company which bought BetterHelp. I believe the shilling kicking up to high gear is in part due to a virtual/telehealth competitor called American Well, which Teva reportedly gave/has given/gives a generous amount of money to. American Well also has its tendrils in online therapy projects. If it isn't Teladoc buying BetterHelp to combat direct competition, it is as others have said - BetterHelp & co. being pure scumbags and riding off useful idiots and a lucrative industry that is currently absorbing a serious amount of cash despite the concerns of poor care.

As Null pointed out, this is potentially a data-mining operation as well as a money grab. With so much funding being dumped into various companies that seem to offer the same care as BetterScam on an even wider scale, it's likely they're in this for the cash injections, using YouTubers to bolster on-the-ground support at any cost. I think Teladoc saw dollar signs, and decided to market their sham of a help system by any means necessary, creating a giant ponzi scheme. It's just really fucking unfortunate so many people are wrapped up in it and claiming this somehow isn't one giant scam.

The part that absolutely killed me was the shady "Life is hard sometimes... I'm just like you guys! I have mental health challenges too! This app can help!" attitude running through his sponsored content. On top of the incredible amount of content creators they roped into the whole script, the trust me, guys! gloss on everything was concerning. A tiny piece of me wants to think Phil's trying to be the normie's normie and stupidly thinks everybody has good intentions, but so much of it seems to have been blatantly ignored in the name of money/passive income. PDP went from a loud let's player to something that is worth watching. All while also managing to make some people sperg because of dropping an n-bomb and having some Amazon wishlist (according to his last video). That aside, it really is interesting to see how further this Better Help thing goes. Not only is it a skeevy service, it's one that managed to get a boost thanks to a bunch of Youtubers who likely used it to try and milk money off their own followers if the $20 per person sign up is anything to go by.

Unlike 4chan, the fact that KF has distinct user profiles will help separate the "wheat from the chaff". All I hope is that the actual kids who watch PDP don't venture too deep and end up watching videos of people doing horrible things to dogs.

Let's not forget, if they admit to being underage, they will get banned.

DeFranco has always tried to engender trust, but throughout the years I've been noticing that his content has been less news and more stating his righteous opinion, and there's just cracks of scumminess that have appeared 10 months ago with his shilling of coinbase, which he suddenly dropped when the cryptocurrency market crashed.

DeFranco has become very greedy in the last year or so. I wasn't even aware he had a Patreon for a news network where the amount pledged has been hidden and he's yet to deliver on his Patreon promises.
