So Kiwi Farms ISN'T the Mos Eisley of the internet...?
I think the Sarlacc pit is a better description

Hey everybody, apologies if this has been discussed, but searching back through the last ~15 pages quickly didn't yield anything. I noticed that people dug up information about Teladoc.

Currently getting a fucking network error trying to archive anything, so my apologies.

As a rule of thumb, whenever you're searching for an Israeli health-related company, always toss in a search for an ugly behemoth called Teva Pharmaceuticals. They are apparently the world's biggest generic drugmaker, and were a pretty prize for investors. They've bought out a countless number of companies and have an incredible stranglehold on the drug market. They've frequently been "attacked" by political figureheads for their high prescription drug prices, but conveniently, they have their own generic market to bolster in the case that prescription drug prices ever are forced to decrease. In the past 3 years, they have invested in telehealth. Fundamentally, BetterHelp is a telehealth platform.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-healthcare-teva-idUSKCN0RT2W220150929
Teva has faced criticism for raising the price of its own branded multiple sclerosis drug Copaxone in recent years, a common practice among larger pharmaceutical companies. Hayden countered that Teva’s generic medications have saved the U.S. healthcare system $162 billion over 10 years.

So, why is this even relevant? Well I did a quick search for Teva in relation to Teladoc, the company which bought BetterHelp. I believe the shilling kicking up to high gear is in part due to a virtual/telehealth competitor called American Well, which Teva reportedly gave/has given/gives a generous amount of money to. American Well also has its tendrils in online therapy projects. If it isn't Teladoc buying BetterHelp to combat direct competition, it is as others have said - BetterHelp & co. being pure scumbags and riding off useful idiots and a lucrative industry that is currently absorbing a serious amount of cash despite the concerns of poor care.

Virtual doctor start-up American Well is raising over $300 million and Philips is a new investor
...
Still, investors are betting on the opportunity. American Well competes with Teladoc, a public company, and Doctor on Demand, a venture-backed consumer app that also offers virtual physician visits.

A new report from the research firm Rock Health found that digital health companies have raised more than $3.4 billion in funding in the first half of 2018. And acquisitions are picking up, most notably with Amazon's agreement last week to buy internet pharmacy PillPack for around $1 billion.
...
American Well also announced this year that it the telemedicine vendor working with Apple and Stanford on their heart-health study. American Well's Board includes Deval Patrick, the former governor of Massachusetts, and Brendan O'Grady, CEO of the U.S. business of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries.

Huntington’s Disease Society of America Launches First-of-its-Kind Free Telehealth Counseling for HD Families

The Huntington’s Disease Society of America (@HDSA) recently launched a new technology partnership with telehealth company American Well (@AmericanWell) to offer free online therapy to people affected by Huntington’s disease. HDSA-trained licensed social workers and psychologists will be available on American Well’s telehealth platform to families in all 50 states to help manage the emotional symptoms and burden of HD. Funding for this program is provided by a generous grant from Teva Pharmaceuticals (@TevaUSA).

Teladoc flat-out says acquiring BetterHelp was to expand their own reach in the direct-to-consumer and behavioral health sector.

TELADOC, INC.
Notes to Audited Consolidated Financial Statements

On January 23, 2015, the Company completed the acquisition of Compile, Inc. d/b/a BetterHelp ("BetterHelp"), through a merger in which BetterHelp became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company. The merger consideration paid by the Company in connection with this acquisition consisted of (i) $3.5 million in cash at closing (subject to certain adjustments, including adjustments for any working capital deficiency at closing), (ii) an unsecured, subordinated promissory note in the original principal amount of $1.0 million, with all principal and interest being payable on the third anniversary of closing, and (iii) revenue sharing equal to 15% of the annual net revenue of the BetterHelp business (but not the Company's other business) for three years following closing. BetterHelp was acquired to help the Company expand its operations in the direct-to-consumer and behavioral health sector.

Marginally interesting article from NASDAQ talking about Teladoc's growth after company acquisitions.

https://www.nasdaq.com/article/why-teladoc-tdoc-stock-has-more-than-doubled-in-a-year-cm931331
Investors note that the company is in the inception phase and losses are a result of heavy expenditures incurred on marketing and substantial investments made to acquire new clients, build its proprietary network of healthcare providers and develop its technology platform.

All the more encouraging is that these investments are bearing fruit, which is reflected by a strong increase in membership, visits and client base. These drives have led to an upsurge in revenues at the company that has witnessed a CAGR of 74% from 2014-2017.

The company's inorganic strategies have provided enough fuel for overall growth. A number of acquisitions, Best Doctors, HealthiestYou, StatDoc and BetterHelp completed in past three years have led to an increase in membership and visits. Both these metrics have seen a CAGR of 42% and 70%, respectively from 2014-2017.

As Null pointed out, this is potentially a data-mining operation as well as a money grab. With so much funding being dumped into various companies that seem to offer the same care as BetterScam on an even wider scale, it's likely they're in this for the cash injections, using YouTubers to bolster on-the-ground support at any cost. I think Teladoc saw dollar signs, and decided to market their sham of a help system by any means necessary, creating a giant ponzi scheme. It's just really fucking unfortunate so many people are wrapped up in it and claiming this somehow isn't one giant scam.

How many twelvies and other assorted normies do you think are watching Chris hump a sex doll and trying to figure out the password right now?

Here's the archive for the SEC and Reuters ones:

I also got network errors trying to archive most of those.

Let’s pretend that Phil didn’t know this shit was happening. Let’s pretend he only wanted to help.

He was sponsored by, and supposedly used, this app and hadn’t at least taken a look at the terms and conditions?

You want us to believe that someone who claims to do a lot of research into each story they post didn’t do the most basic research with this app??

I don’t buy it.

Plz no bully.
Oh hey if youre feeling bullied I have an internet company that can help you out if you need somebody to talk to. Just HMU and Ill give you a referral link

I'm glad to know one of the top youtubers lurks the farms though. I'm sure he gets a chuckle at the DSP sub forum. And isn't it funny that Amberlynn is so huge, Felix had to blur her entire body not just her face?
I dont think he lurks, so much as he googled "Betterhelp" + "Scam"; I mean if you use proper search engine etiquitte (which I dont even know, so let alone even less gay people) you can get around SEO shit and not get fed shit. Or something like that.

I think the reason so many people are worked up isn't because he didn't do any research (or did and just said fuck it) rather his entire 20 person team that contains "some of the best editors, researchers, production and talent in the industry" didn't quite catch it. Apparently ~$800,000 a year doesn't get you very good researchers.

Philly D is either a colossal pile of shit (if his research team found that it was scam but he wanted to build on his $100 million networth any way) or a total idiot who apparently needs to take a page from Metokur's playbook - instead of paying $800,000 a year for a research team he could just read KiwiFarms for free.

I know Keemstar quite adamantly insisted on baited that Shane Dawson didn't know better when he shilled Betterhelp. Does anyone know if he has addressed it yet? It's painful to think how much exposure his documentary brought..

I'm wondering how DeFraudo can reasonably claim to run a news agency, now that we know he also runs an advertising agency - how can anybody trust anything he says again? Is he saying X because it's news, or because he's shilling?

Hardly, he played the victim card about not knowing anything and I think even Keem mentions they were texting back and forth and how Shane would be feverishly waiting on Keem's take on the whole situation be put out there. I wouldn't trust a single worth to come out of his mouth personally.

Most of his 6.3 million subscribers don't care/know that much about him. He's just their version of John Oliver or Jon Stewart.

Most of youtube works that way, look at anyone on this board and realize they have a horde of fans.

The part that absolutely killed me was the shady "Life is hard sometimes... I'm just like you guys! I have mental health challenges too! This app can help!" attitude running through his sponsored content. On top of the incredible amount of content creators they roped into the whole script, the trust me, guys! gloss on everything was concerning. A tiny piece of me wants to think Phil's trying to be the normie's normie and stupidly thinks everybody has good intentions, but so much of it seems to have been blatantly ignored in the name of money/passive income. He's very condescending and overly defensive in his October 4th and 8th videos mentioning people pointing out the scam. But isn't the world nooz just SO important, you beautiful bastards?! He just can't stop digging this hole.

If you had told me five years ago that I would end up liking Pewdiepie, I would not have believed you.

Oh, how times have changed.
PDP went from a loud let's player to something that is worth watching. All while also managing to make some people sperg because of dropping an n-bomb and having some Amazon wishlist (according to his last video). That aside, it really is interesting to see how further this Better Help thing goes. Not only is it a skeevy service, it's one that managed to get a boost thanks to a bunch of Youtubers who likely used it to try and milk money off their own followers if the $20 per person sign up is anything to go by.

Unlike 4chan, the fact that KF has distinct user profiles will help separate the "wheat from the chaff". All I hope is that the actual kids who watch PDP don't venture too deep and end up watching videos of people doing horrible things to dogs. :cryblood:
Let's not forget, if they admit to being underage, they will get banned.

So Kiwi Farms ISN'T the Mos Eisley of the internet...?
Depends on where you come from. If you asked anti-SJW's or screeching Twitter SJW'

Great speaking voice. DeFranco has always tried to engender trust, but throughout the years I've been noticing that his content has been less news and more stating his righteous opinion, and there's just cracks of scumminess that have appeared 10 months ago with his shilling of coinbase, which he suddenly dropped when the cryptocurrency market crashed.

DeFranco has become very greedy in the last year or so. I wasn't even aware he had a Patreon for a news network where the amount pledged has been hidden and he's yet to deliver on his Patreon promises.

I'm wondering how DeFraudo can reasonably claim to run a news agency, now that we know he also runs an advertising agency - how can anybody trust anything he says again? Is he saying X because it's news, or because he's shilling?

Unfortunately he has fans in the hundreds of thousands. The man can fill auditoriums. So, I think the wall of sycophants will keep any kind of legit criticism away from him.
