Dave said, while looking at his KOgaming analytics, "My average view duration on KOgaming is 5:23, even though every single video on KOgaming is anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes long. I literally have no short videos on KOgaming, but the channels average view duration is 5 minutes. Ok, ummm. . .Obviously watch time continues to go down and down and down because. . .uhhh. . .y'know, no one. . .there's no new content on this channel. In the entire month of June. . .no, from the last 30 days on KOgaming, last 30 days, I only got 7,000 views on the whole channel. . .and I made $9. There you go Arf, Arf, Arf."
Now I'm no mathematician, but this means his abandoned KOgaming channel with a 33% engagement rate is getting a $1.28 CPM during the end of June and July, typically slow months. Dave has never had DSPGaming operating outside the umbrella of an MCN for more than a couple of months after leaving Machinima. MCNs are typically able to run better ads that offer a higher payout. I do not find a $2 or higher CPM an unbelievable number for him to have been getting. Especially during Q4, I lately have been thinking, with Dave opting to skip his Quarterly Tax payments, that his entire plan for this fiscal year seems to hinge on him making a fuckton of YouTube ad revenue during Q4 and having the excess earmarked to pay his taxes next April. I think what he's really freaking out about is he always assumes that Q4 will be huge for him with new releases etc coinciding with a large upswing in ad revenue and his 1 million views per month from his old uploads on DSPGaming earn him a large sum of cash.
