There's no way a surgeon would perform any kind of replacement for her at her weight. Aside from the anesthesia issue which in itself is too big of a risk for someone that morbidly obese, any orthopedist would require significant weight loss before even considering her a candidate. It's the same situation as WLS. Basically, she's fucked unless she loses at least half her current weight.

I've had experience helping overweight/obese people with their prosthetic legs. They don't walk with them, at best they make it halfway down the hallway with a walker but most of the time it's used to help them stand to transfer from bed to wheelchair and wheelchair to toilet. Fit people may have mobility with prosthetic limbs but the obese can't support themselves well on only one good leg and most of the time end up leaning heavily on their walkers and gasping for air or crying in pain until they refuse to walk or do therapy anymore. It hurts so bad they would rather be taken care of than try to learn to walk on their own. Both of them also frequently ordered delivery pizzas and subs to their rooms after a hearty portion of nursing home dinner and we would have to guide the delivery guys to their rooms.

These two women were in their late 30's/ early 40's. This future is not as far away as AL thinks.

I have heard of people getting what is essentially diaper rash under their gut flap. I have also heard that it sort of smells like almonds. What I wonder is if she could get that type of infection under her ankle roll. With the bacteria that comes from the feet and the roll creating an area that could trap bacteria such as an ankle roll, I believe that AL could develop a nasty infection. As long as she doesnt try to piss in the shower or have too much loose shit roll down her legs while cleaning I think she might be okay. Otherwise, she's gonna lose that foot before diabetes can slowly claim it.

I think the beetus is already well on its way to claiming her foot. Have you seen her kitchen walk? She just drags one of her feet and shuffles the other one across the floor. It's fucking weird.

She's at a huge risk of gangrene up in those ankle rolls that will rot her flesh off. If she's not keeping that area clean and frictionless the chafe will get infected, and I'm sure that pond water didn't do that area any favors. it'll smell like a rotten corpse and the flesh on her foot could easily slide off like a sock before she notices the problem.

One of those women I talked about above... I had to help change her dressings a few times before her amputation. You could see through her tibia and fibula the flesh was that gone. She lost her leg above the knee. It was the worst thing I ever smelled in my life. She didn't feel a thing down there.

She doesn't admit it because I am sure she believes it will validate her haydurs. But the fact is, her health is important only to her and she's not getting anything over on the haydurs by ignoring it. In her dying breath at 32 she can rest easy that the haydurs never got her, while they all move on to the next cow.
