It's a universal part of all counter or revolutionary movements. Everyone always decries the people that eventually realize in order to be successful you have to compromise and yes, to some extent "sell out". Screaming back at Renfamous 24/7 while fun and entertaining, ain't really gonna change anything. Selling and pimping alternative comics will. Nobody pimped the IGG projects to a bigger and more centralized audience than EVS.

If we can go Braveheart for a moment, everyone loved romantic revolutionary William Wallace and viewed Robert the Bruce as a bit of a carpetbagger. But independent Scotland ain't happening without Robert the Bruce.

His message is advocating for giving Vox a hug. And Vox is the only way. Basically suicide your Real Life Social Media Presence and ability to use common crowd funding and make it impossible to be successful as an independent and have no choice but to join Vox's publishing house.

It's quite easy to understand. They exist in a reflective bubble where they see only distorted versions of themselves that they mistake as paragons of virtue (e.g. Mark Waid believing that he is like Superman instead of the man-baby he truly is.) What they fail to comprehend time and again is that the sentiment and grievances behind Comicsgate have not changed. The customers want quality stories without the heavy-handed political commentary and social justice ideology. The customers expect tact and professionalism from creators who instead conflate criticism with harassment and viciously attack anyone that refuse to massage their egos. At the end of the day it is the customers who have the power because it is OUR money to spend. With Marvel Studios essentially printing money for Disney at the cinema and capeshit spreading to other media, the customer can go elsewhere to get their fix. We do not need them anymore. We will even create our own entertainment as the multiple IGGs have proven.

If EVS bolting from the movement constitutes a victory to the Portland mafia, then fucking congratulations, you have achieved a pyrrhic victory.

The projection also means they think they've won when they run someone off because SURELY that means said person spends every night stressing and sobbing in their bed about how they've been wounded forever, FOREVER , completely mentally destroyed, and will be negatively triggered every day of their lives from here on out whenever they see a comic book!!!! (Because that's how the Waids of the world are, fragile and childishly immature, so surely their enemies are the same if not worse!)


They can't compute someone would just leave a conversation because it's not bearing any fruit, they only could be leaving because they've been defeated by the superior intellect displayed!

The idea that someone who was called a name could just say "eh" and go home and do something other than curl up in a ball on the couch with a pint of REEEEEEEEEEEEsist icecream is completely foreign to them.

EVS co-opted a movement because he saw a way to make money. He then uses drama and "owning SJWs" to fleece people who should know better than that. He talks about the old guard fighting a futile fight against the big 2, yet makes his money bitching about Star Wars is ruined and Lucasfilm needs to course correct. I don't begrudge the man his money, I just think he's full of shit when he talks about "protecting" friends like Nerkish, a man he's known for what 6, 7 months. If he was just straight up from the beginning and said it was about the money I'd understand, not this fake concern. Just listen to him and his friends on their livestreams, they talk as if everyone should be thankful that they're there to take the fans money. I feel like Peter Sarsgaard at the end of Shattered Glass, where he realizes that Stephen Glass(Hayden Christiansen) has been lying about the articles he'd written for the New Republic magazine and how could he ever believe anything the guy says once he knew the truth. I really wish there was some smoking gun evidence against this guy. People with weasley faces tend to be weasels.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't think anything really changed despite some people's reactions. Nobody died and comic pros are still going to give you a list of 30 adjectives if you dare point out typos, errors, or just make fun of them trying a "very special episode" about how Drumpf is going to kill all the minorities......eventually but not quick enough to spare them from this crap
