The Creepypasta Fandom

Hey guys, want to play a game? A Birthday game? :D?

Are there any vidya creepypastas that actually, like, invent a new game, instead of relying on a previously established franchise?

Just curious.
There actually are a few pretty good vidya creepypastas that feature their original games. I can't really name any off the top of my head but there's this one that's basically about this guy posting on some gaming forum looking for some game, and once a few people admit to playing it and they talk about it more they start remembering how fucked up it was.

Hey guys. Long-time lurker, first time poster. Thought I'd join because as I was reading this thread, I was somewhat reminded of myself when I was like, 11 to 12 years old. Basically I was like a creepypasta fangirl before creepypasta existed, though all of my characters were original. I wrote little one-shot stories about them and drew them in this journal I had, though thank god none of them ever saw the light of the internet and I just kept them between me and my friends. My favorite was a hooded serial killer wielding two sickles. I'd named him Jimmy, and despite the name he had absolutely nothing to do with Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. He had an older brother named Blade, who was also a killer and had absolutely nothing to do with, well, the actual Blade.

I'd always been interested in writing and drawing and inventing my own little worlds. Originally, this was inspired by Neopets, Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia, typical kids' stuff. The shift to these weird little stories about killers happened right as I transitioned from elementary school to middle school. I guess I thought that since I was growing up, I should write more grown-up stories, and "grown-up" to me meant "violent." I'd also started frequenting a few humor websites that had more than a few jokes about serial killers, both real and fictional, which made me start to look them up for inspiration.

It was actually a friend who suggested that I start "dating" my character Jimmy. I went along with it, as first as a joke, but then because I was a horribly lonely angry girl who loved the idea of love but was repulsed by every boy who was my own age. This was completely chaste, however, as I still thought sex was totally gross. All I really did was say I loved him and was totally going to marry him once he became real and kidnapped me to make me his accomplice, or something like that.

Ironically, I actually did start writing creepypasta when I was in high school, before it morphed into being, well, the shit in this thread. None of my pastas really garnered a fanbase but still consistently make "Most Underrated" lists which is probably the best way things could've turned out.

So yeah, that was my cool story bro.

Hm, I don't think it's been mentioned yet but I rather like "Normal porn for normal people" http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Normal_Porn_for_Normal_People probably not as great compared to some of the other things shared (yet to get round to them) but it's at least got plausibility going for it, given some of the messed up things the internet can produce.

I kinda like Creepypastas in the same fashion as Horror movies, if they're good, they're thought provoking, imaginative and of course, scary (like say... The Thing... the Carpenter one)
When they're bad, they're often a riot (see: the crappypasta/slowbeef's house of horror selection) kind of a win/win compared to other genres as far as I'm concerned.

I really like that one too (Cosbydaf is a great writer). Some people complained that it wasn't scary enough, just disturbing but that reminds me of a lot of horror fans nowadays who always expect scares in a horror movie rather than the ideas themselves. The only real problem I have with the pasta is the overly convenient ending.

This became infamous on Crappypasta as SlenderTwilight: http://www.crappypasta.com/slender-my-personal-account/
Why, just, why?

I love this one. People have complained about it being too bizarre, but I think that's why it works. The best creepypastas are the ones that are subtle and ambiguous. (Barbie.avi is another prime example.) But apparently that's too boring/confusing, hence HYPER REALISTIC BLOOD.

Holy shit, I loved that one! The guy masturbating in a chicken suit = Best Creepypasta Ever

Ooh, yes. That was a good one. It doesn't even hint at death.

This one is good but I think it's a lot better without the pictures.

Dead Bart to me is a guilty pleasure but as an overall horror story, it's pretty bad and suffers from the same "hyperrealistic" bullshit.

Video game scarynoodles are so predictable. It's always some haunted copy of -insert video game here- that contains HYP3R R3@L15T1C BL00D (which would be impossible for any game), reversed, distorted music, and the main character is some messed up version of the original. They're basically ROM hacks.
